[if you turn on your taps this morning you will find water coming out, and if you head to the level 3 common area you will find Dellen giving a bit of speech, floating briefly off the ground so all can see her. Her voice carries, without shouting, so that everyone can hear her clearly]

Thank you, everyone, for the prayer and sacrifices. I... I am sorry I left. There was... [rubs her hands together] ...something very difficult. But I did not mean to leave. Some memories brought up are hard to ignore.

[smile!]

But, that all is over. You will find your water works and, of course, I will heal any who need me.

More important than my return is the news I bring. Selyir has located four monstrous beasts in the waters below us. They are far too dangerous to risk allowing you to begin clearing out that level yet. Even working together, if there are too few of you, the results will surely be catastrophic. So Selyir and I have devised a method, using her portals and my control of water, to send you down there.

There will be four portals which will take you to four bubbles placed near where the beasts rest. They will that will allow you to breathe so long as you stay within them. If you are willing to fight, please place yourselves so that no one group is too weak.

[she gestures to an OPEN AREA with four glittering circles on the ground, each with a number inside, so you can self designate]

Unfortunately I can't offer much detail on what you will face, other than that they are extremely dangerous and have a hunger for the flesh of man.

[shakes, for a moment, but calms herself]

Those of you who cannot fight, do not think your help is not welcome as well. I can only heal humans, so preparation to see to the wounded of others is essential. I also cannot follow you into battle, so any with abilities that will strengthen or heal others in the thick of it is encouraged to lend whatever aid you can. If you are not a healer or fighter of any kind, you may still use these few hours before we begin to make exchanges with the other gods and acquire weapons or defenses for those who will be going. Any aid, from anyone, is welcome.

...Finally, my children, these are maneaters. They are ancient and have in their bellies the bones of many of my children long gone, from when this place thrived. Kill them, and Selyir will collect their corpses. The power from such a great sacrifice will be split between creating a public baths -- no argument, I assure you children that you do need it -- and displacing enough of the water below that once these beasts are gone you can begin to clear it. A portion of the power will also be put aside to be sure that I have enough to heal all that I can from this battle, and any left will go toward an emergency fund for those who need healing but have nothing to offer.

((OOC: Okay! This is the event PRE PLANNING POST. Your characters ICly have a few hours to sort themselves out: choose what group you want to go with, possibly form strategies or make last minutes sacrifices to be better prepared! There will be a thread for OOC questions, as well as ICly speaking to Dellen, which I will run sporadically for the rest of the day. There will be four posts for deciding what group to go with (ICly your character may change their mind as much as they want, it's more for just saying 'hey this is a group of people you might be fighting with, let's say hi and talk battle strategies' than any solid agreement to be in the event.).

[ Well before the fog begins to roll into headquarters, every apartment door will hear a series of two knocks on their door simultaneously. Opening the door reveals no one there, not opening the door receives no additional knocks. Either way, a certain godly voice sounds from the nearest shadow to your door. ]

Please pardon my intrusion this evening and I apologize for the urgency of my request. I require assistance tonight in removing the security threat presented by the large hole in the wall by the common area. If you would be willing to assist, I ask that you meet me there and highly suggest you come armed should you have the resources. This task will also require physical labor, so I ask that those not equipped or prepared for combat come as well.
