(no subject)

Who: You
When: Day 40, Early Afternoon
Where: Kitchen(= In the common area
What: Magic!

[At approximately the 3 o'clock hour on day 40, there is a loud, odd noise, a bit like a party blower crossed with an explosion. On the wall in the common area you will find the large, irridescent words:]

Well done.

[And you might be somewhat taken with very obvious changes to the building in the north-east corner of the level 3 common area.

First off, it's low front wall has now been covered with a shining metal counter top, complete with indents and glass covers, rather like any mess hall food line. Beyond that you can see a fully formed, industrial grade kitchen. Metal counters for prep areas, shelving for storage, white ceramic plate, bowls, silverware and glasses. Shelves full of stainless steel pots and pans of every size and need, and drawers full of excellent cooking knives (but having come from Hok, they will instantly go dull if used for any purpose other than cooking). Bakeware can also be found, including sheet pans and bread pans, muffin trays and bunt pans.

Large appliances have been taken care of too. There are at least four large ovens, several gas stovetop burners and a large griddle that has a grill attachment. In the corner there is even a brick oven, perfect for wood fire baking. There are several deep sinks, for cleaning dishes and plenty of space to dry them. An entire shelf is full of bright, durable white towels for the task.

And, if you venture into the kitchen and to the back, you will discover walk in pantry, fridge, and freezer. The pantry has been generously stocked with spices, as well as some basic god given baking supplies: sugar, flour, cocoa, yeast, and so on.

Finally, just outside the kitchen itself, there are several long, mess hall style wooden tables.

Basically, Thusia, you have a fully stocked kitchen, with everything you need to feed the populace, minus the actual food and, of course, chefs.]

[Well, it's not like he believed in them before he came here.]

That's the beauty of power.
theshadowturnedhero: (Can't do nothin')

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-13 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
That and immortality. That's a real kicker.
waysmarterthanyou: (Thinking)

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-13 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that helps too.

[But if you're as smart as me you don't need immortality.

Oh wait.]
theshadowturnedhero: (...really?)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
That's a lot harder to get around.
waysmarterthanyou: ("Losers")

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-14 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure they have weaknesses. It's only a matter of time before they slip up.
theshadowturnedhero: (...really?)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
Of course gods have weaknesses.

But they don't become 'obvious' when they slip up. Anyone who thinks otherwise is being stupid.
waysmarterthanyou: ("What was that?")

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-14 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
[chuckling]

Of course it doesn't become obvious. You have to be observant. The best time to see someone's weakness is when they fuck up.

[Like Jimmy. As soon as he started getting a big head Gary just swooped in, snapped his fingers, and threw his precious "kingdom" into chaos.

Ah, the memories. Gary is smirking ever so slightly as he remembers that. But then he stops.]
theshadowturnedhero: (...really?)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
...don't tell me yer seriously trying to apply human standards to god standards.
waysmarterthanyou: ("Losers")

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-14 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
They're sorry excuses for gods. They may as well be another stupid human.

[I'd totally be a much better god, obviously.]
theshadowturnedhero: (...really?)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
... [Sighs and shakes his head.]

So the question is...where do I start in explaining how stupid ya are?
theshadowturnedhero: (...really?)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's true.

If the gods are honest? They're actually not that bad for gods. And gods don't just have 'easy to exploit weaknesses.' Because there's always some crazy guy around who wants to take down the gods and if they were this active then? There'd just be MORE.

But the gods are still alive, now aren't they?

Which means, no, there's no 'some random slip up will lead to their doom.' Ya gotta put in epic level adventure energy into taking them down if ya even have a hope to.
waysmarterthanyou: ("Moron!")

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-14 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Listen to me, genius. I never said it would be "easy to exploit". I said they would inevitably fuck up and show their weaknesses. I know this place is packed with morons but there are some people observant enough to see them. It'll just be a matter of someone smart enough to find a way to exploit them.[Like me, duh.]

Even gods fall, and these idiots are sure to be no different. They're idiots.

[It sure does sound like he wants them to fail.]
theshadowturnedhero: (...really?)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
...so, does it hurt yer ankles having a head that big?

[So unimpressed.]

So what happens to ya when ya can't purify yer food supply?
waysmarterthanyou: ("You're boring.")

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-14 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Nope I'm so great I am able to handle my ego so well]

Tch. What's that got to do with the gods inevitable fuck up? I never said I was going to try and make it happen.

[Even though I totally could. To be honest, Gary's not sure why he so badly wants this place to fail if he's obviously so reliant on it. Or maybe it's because he's so reliant on it. He doesn't feel like he's using them, like it should be. If this is how his life is going to be from now on, he'd rather see this whole place go up in flames. Right?

Ugh, all this thinking. SHADOW WHY ARE YOU MAKING HIM THINK ABOUT THIS?

Gary's demeanor visibly darkens.]

You're boring me now. [Though he sounds less condescending and more upset.]
theshadowturnedhero: (Hey now I know what I'm saying)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Sure ya weren't. [This is tone of not believing that for a second.]

But my statement from before still stands. If gods are known, there are people who wish to see them topple. Over and over and over. Some may even get close. That's happened in my world. Someone is a threat to the goddesses. And yet...he hasn't won yet. And he did go on that epic level adventure.

And it seems I bore ya when I challenge ya.
waysmarterthanyou: ("Moron!")

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-14 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
[That is because when you challenge him you make him think of things he DOESN'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT. What right do you have to do that? :|]

Face it. They're going to fail.
theshadowturnedhero: (You're better than this)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-14 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Because I'm a jerk.]

Gods? No, they're not. They survived whatever took out the humans.

Us? Probably not. The fact everyone here died, but still manage to go forward means they still intend to live. Which ups up their chances to me the kind of humans who are pretty much cockroaches and find all the ways to survive.
waysmarterthanyou: (Secret)

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-14 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes humans are cockroaches and Gary will inevitably squash them all.]

[Putting his hands up.]

Alright, fine. You're right. You've convinced me. I guess I'm just...confused. It's not every day you die and get revived by supposed gods, right?

[He's really just going through his bullshit "you're right" routine. Arguing is pointless and it's just pissing him off. And really, Gary has given himself away far more than he would have liked. He needs to start appearing more...normal? Yes, fine. That'll work.

Of course, as good as he is at bullshitting, Shadow has obviously proven to be immune to everything Gary.

Asshole.]
theshadowturnedhero: (I'm brilliant)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-19 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, definitely an asshole. =3]

Oh, of course I haven't convinced ya, Gary, but who knows. Maybe it'll get through enough ya won't do something stupid.

Those accursed knight instincts, I suppose.
waysmarterthanyou: ("Losers")

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-19 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Me? Do something stupid?

[lauuugh]
theshadowturnedhero: (Heh heh heh)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-19 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
And that more or less makes my point for me.
waysmarterthanyou: (Psst)

[personal profile] waysmarterthanyou 2012-04-19 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Tch. Sure it does.

[I don't do stupid things.]
theshadowturnedhero: (Come now)

[personal profile] theshadowturnedhero 2012-04-19 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yep.
