[moves forward to get a better look at the creature]

[ aren't there fairy lights everywhere, can I pull a string of that down and throw it at the thing to get a better look at it ]

[as you get closer the animal turns to look at you in return]

[it has a short face and very distinctive, bright eyes, and at first glance it might actually be a monkey, but it's not moving very fast when it turns, or when it gets up on all fours and starts moving in your direction]

... Do monkeys usually eat live prey and not respond to arrows in their back?

[WELP GUESS IT'S SHOVING A LANCE TIP INTO THE CREATURE'S FACE TIME]

[stabbing is less ignorable than an arrow. Pulling back from the spear tip with a small trickle of blood seeping out of the wound. then it just sits back on the ground and doesn't move]

[lunges without question seeking to bury the head of the lance into the thing's chest]

[the lance goes in with some resistance and then sticks... at least until the creature wraps it's red claws around the lance and slowly impales itself further. it's trying to get closer to it's new victim, reaching out to scratch whatever it can get]

[ Okay now I am getting Bad Feelings from this. ]

Back up, force isn't going to work on that thing. [checking his own pockets]

[well if it's continuing to impale itself on the lance, lifting it up off the ground is probably a painful thing, but probably not going to be able to shake it off]
