[There is a stew bubbling happily over the fire; leaf "platters" and shish-kebabs(? something-chunks on sticks), salad, a somewhat overcooked stirfry, and a gourd filled with fruit chunks in milky liquid are arranged on the kitchen counter.]

Okay, guys, get it while it's hot!

[the soup is alright? perhaps a bit too sour, or the spidermeat was cooked too long...possibly both. The meat chunk is charred on one side, raw on the other, and best avoided. Salad is salad but yummy and the fruit salad looks ridiculously delicious. Incidentally, seems like it was soaking in zen gourd milk, if you recognize it.]

[Becca's nose wrinkles slightly at the taste of the soup. It's a bit thick (it's supposed to be a clear soup, not a stew), but the flavour is all right despite the texture.]

She must've snuck running potatoes into the soup to thicken it...

Yeah but potatoes don't go in a soup like this. They make the broth thick and goopy in a way that's not nice. She got the seasoning right though, so it tastes okay.

I'd rather her not "tinker" with things we're going to eat in the first place.
