I wasn't under the impression reincarnations recalled their past lives. From what I know of it, at least.

But anyway - the gods became known as "Judges"; their names stripped and given new ones. We only knew them as Surgeon, Messenger, and so on until Surgeon's move. I'm not the only one with memories of the Sabra you know.

They began to bring people in from other worlds - offered us a wish in exchange for our memories, which we could win back by playing in their "games". Put us on teams, named after your countries, and competed in those games.

And we lived in what was once the Sacred City, in different blocks - I believe we had to move three times, due to either space constrictions, or the Old Man.

Wait - why would they need to bring other people to the Sacred City?

Power. We called them "games", but they were anything but - in many of them, we would be hurt, or even killed, and our sacrifices gave them power.
