Well then.

Anyway, I have a million flowers to get, everybody wants flowers. And I guess I need something ropelike, too. Oh, and I thought of a cool weapon, but I figured you'd say no.

To the weapon?

Yeah. It's a whip that's a taser that's a cravat.

Me neither, but it'd be pretty amazing. ...Maybe it's you who should have one.

A taser with a whip might be useful... but how would the cravat even attach?

Mmm... Maybe the whip would kinda retract into it for safekeeping.

Why don't you just get something you'd actually wear?

Yeah, yeah, cravats don't kill people, people in cravats kill people. I'm just saying, I think twice before crossing someone with ruffles at their neck, and I'm not alone.

Was there a high incident of death by people in cravat in your world?

Indirectly? There's this dynasty of cravat-wearing demon prosecutors who tend to send everybody to death row except when Nick gets them off because they're innocent.

The von Karmas were known for doing anything it took to get a guilty verdict. Anything.

Don't sound so surprised. Some people are like that.

That doesn't make it right. A lawyer's job is to uncover the truth, not to follow some misguided agenda. Especially not when it's at the cost of other people's lives.

Like I said, some people are like that. You think everyone does what they're supposed to do? Their job may be to uncover the truth, but that's not necessarily why they're doing it.
