Is it? I suppose it certainly must be, for some precise definition of "the place," but as far as I have seen, it does not seem to fit such a description overmuch.

[oh that's new. don't mind the staring.]

No? What would you call it?

[ GETTIN USED TO THAT YES ]

I suppose to be precise, one might say "this is this place."

Though perhaps that's a touch too precise.

Perhaps a little obvious, but it will do.

But you say "the place" and you mean something for yourself, did you not? It is the place you were seeking?
from_adam_down: (of elder splendours)

[personal profile] from_adam_down 2013-06-01 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
It is the place that sought me.

Oh did it? How curious! You must tell me more!

I died, and there was nothing, and then I felt a pull. There is a world that seeks people, I was told.

A pull? I noticed no such thing. I do trust my own observant nature, but I suppose I was a bit indisposed.

More than a bit, to tell it truly. Yes, entirely indisposed, perhaps, is accurate to say in this case.

I imagine most people are, all things considered.

As you say. And yet, you were not.
from_adam_down: (and as a day-dream free)

[personal profile] from_adam_down 2013-06-02 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
My death wasn't a surprise.
thisrosehasthorns: (pic#6226424)

[personal profile] thisrosehasthorns 2013-06-03 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Is that the difference, do you think? I suppose I was not particularly expecting it at that moment, but I did intend to die at some point. How much of a surprise is too much, I wonder. You say yours was not at all.

Well, if you were to put it on a scale of one to ten, where on that scale would the surprise of your death be?
from_adam_down: (unplumbed marvels to befall)

[personal profile] from_adam_down 2013-06-03 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Every person expects to die eventually, don't they? Which doesn't usually make it any less unpleasant or surprising when it happens.

Yours is a complicated question to answer. The timing wasn't a surprise; the way it happened was. Does that average out to a five? That makes it sound worse than it was.

[personal profile] thisrosehasthorns 2013-06-03 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm.

So very many creatures seem alarmed by death, though you are correct to say we should all expect it.
from_adam_down: (things that men have dreamed and known)

[personal profile] from_adam_down 2013-06-03 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Because all creatures are born with the will to continue living. Death is inevitable, but still, they fight against it.
thisrosehasthorns: (pic#6226429)

[personal profile] thisrosehasthorns 2013-06-03 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Of course we do. But that's very different from surprise, isn't it?
from_adam_down: (storm-crazed aeons)

[personal profile] from_adam_down 2013-06-03 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
The opposite, in fact.
thisrosehasthorns: (pic#6226431)

[personal profile] thisrosehasthorns 2013-06-03 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
The opposite? Do you say that to fight is the opposite of surprise or that to you the truth is the opposite of what I have said. If it is the latter then I will disagree, as I find what I say to be general congruent with the truth.
