The Plot Strikes Back

Who: Coren & Everyone.
When: Day 107, Early Evening.
Where: Shrine Room.
What: Plot & Mingle.

[ Despite the memory shenanigans that have been happening the last few days, today has been exceedingly quiet. Perhaps some were nearby to witness the events that took place and returned the memories to those who had yet to find them. Some items with memories in them still might remain behind to be dealt with on another day, but there are more important matters to attend to.

Tonight there's certainly a rustling in the hallways, a flapping of wings. You have never seen so many birds in Thusia before, and they seem completely benign. In every inhabited hallway of the headquarters, there are large and small birds flying to the nearest door, tapping on it with their beaks, and leaving notes to meet on the fourth floor at the shrine room. Where the birds won't or can't go, there are illusions of signs requesting your presence for an urgent matter regarding your home and your memories, trails of light that lead you like an illuminated map from where you are toward the shrine room. If you shut your door on them or tell them to go away, neither will invade further. Aside from the birds roaming the headquarters and the commotion in the shrine room, life goes on. ]

( ooc: For those who didn't get to participate in the memory event end, we had to cut things a bit short, but we promise a more open end next time. We didn't get to do nearly as much as we had planned. )

[ Coren bristles, turning sharply, and it seems like he's focused on her. Several birds flap a bit. People are difficult to deal with after yesterday. ] This entire forest is a bad spot.

I was not present the last time if you've moved before, and I am not willing to just get people killed when there is an option to avoid it.

There are gods that know the other climates and regions quite well and what you might find out there. You should consent to a location you want to move toward.

If you stay, it's likely you'll die here. [ He does not sound like he wants this..]

[She stares evenly back at him, though she does tense in return, shoulders squaring and her posture tightening and closing up.]

Your people are the ones who put us in this forest. So either your people are a bunch of fuck-ups who don't know what they're doing, or they're liars. Either way, I'd rather make decisions for myself instead of doing what someone says I "should."

I'll be doing my own research on this, thanks.

[ The illusion flickers as he turns sharply, adjusting toward her after a moment. He bristles again, and this time his hair breaks into feathers, and feathers begin breaking through his skin in what looks like a painful fashion, only visible along his neck where the uniform doesn't cover. ]

I.. have about had it. I did not come to be intentionally rude to you. I've been informed a little of where you come from and what was done and I can not help you. I barely talk to the gods here and you are not the only person in this world who has suffered, woman.

Do what you want and leave me alone.

[Turns to leave, but after a few steps . . . she turns back, pulls her lower eyelids down and sticks her tongue out at him with the most bored expression she can muster]

Behhhhh~

[ WHAT EVEN DOES THAT MEAN?! ]

.... [Exasperated.]

[Now she's just ignoring him]

[ The birds aren't ignoring you. In fact every. single. one of them is staring with their heads hunched down like they're hunting prey. Some wings flap irritably, a screech from the left, flapping overhead as another moves passed in a quick swoop.

A moment later, Coren calls their attention away and their noises quiet again to normal bird like trills, some still irritable.]

[The birds earn a few unimpressed, irritated glances, but compared to some of the experiences she's had in Thusia alone, a flock of angry birds aren't enough to truly rattle her.

It probably helps knowing she could just flip out into a werebeast too. That does loads for confidence.]

[ She has no idea. It's true, the birds are the least of her concern. ]

What?

[Debates for a moment if he should say it at all, but eventually]

You don't get tired of making enemies where you don't need to?

If he thinks someone who can't trust him is worth making a serious enemy out of, then he was an enemy to begin with. I'm not hurting him. I'm just doing things my own way, and he doesn't like it.
