Who: Kengo and wandering people
When: Day 88, early evening
Where: Level 2, by the warehouse
What: Training
[Before he went to bed that night (when dreampost occurs), Kengo was busy practicing with his new powers.
After jogging around the perimeter of the Level 3 common area several times to warm up, he found an out-of-the-way area on the south end of the open square on Level 2, in front of the warehouse, and started up a series of drills, mostly trying out styles of attacks using liquified darkness--first just activating it, trying to form claws or blades with it and swiping (rather inexpertly). He's not very good at it, uneasiness and nerves about the new power causing him to be a bit unsteady with it. Every time the darkness in his skin creeps up his arm to the sleeve of his t-shirt he stops entirely and lets it dissipate before trying again.
Finally he gets frustrated and pulls on a pair of fingerless gloves, activating them into a pair of metal gauntlets, and starts doing much more familiar boxing drills of his own design.]

[Frowns really hard at his hands and forms hooked claws with the shadowliquid on the knuckle plate??? ...changes them to just pointy cones...] It takes too much concentration, I don't think I can fight with it.

[The grayness keeps creeping up, now visible on his neck. He drops the shadow shaping and punches his fists together a couple times, taking a deep breath. Boxing the air again a couple times to loosen up.]

That's right. And it's possible some things are hard now just because you've never done them before.
So, how does the rest of you feel?

[He punches again a couple times--on the last one his expression sharpens with concentration and there's a whipping crack of sound, his fist swirling with a bit of shadow as he releases the hit like a shot]

[starts a bit, taking a step towards him with his hand out]
Are you alright?

Right, I should enjoy it!

... Exactly. You seem happy enough...

I can't possibly know when these shadows of yours may be dangerous to you as well. I know one other demos who uses shadows and she uses them differently. You'll have to be clear with your own instincts.

I think.. I'm probably too human to take a more animalistic approach. This feels a lot more natural. But it's hard to say for sure when I'm not in a situation where I need to rely on instincts more.

Hmph... Well... pushing one side further when you'd stuck so completely to being human before wouldn't come naturally.
