What, an illusion? If you so wish.

[ She moves only to get up and pour herself another cup of tea-- and, well, since it was on her mind she conjures up the image of a Kirin near where they sit, the creature watching them with gentle, surveying eyes. ]

[he is riveted, looking at the kirin with brief scrutiny -- but it passes whatever accuracy test he had in mind and oh it's just so lovely.]

That's very impressive, Miss Kaori.

Isn't it just? ...Unfortunately...

[ Swipes a hand at it... and it simply goes right through, though the kirin does flick its ears forward curiously. After a moment, it disappears into smoke. ]

I have lost all ability to make it feel natural. But let's keep that between us.

[pruning]

Oh... that is a pity.

[bye kirin :'(] You needn't worry, though; I won't tell a soul.

If you wish to see more for nostalgia at any time, I will be here. I enjoy using my abilities, in any case. I do not often get to-- at least not like that.

I'll be sure to ask. ...Actually, I am curious to know if you'd had any dealings with foxes, while we're still here.

One of the more permanent residents of my shop was a fox, actually. We called him Ten-chan -- very young, very... crude. He had his moments.

[afoxylady]

That sounds about right. "Ten-chan"? How precious.

He insisted. An admirable free spirit, if mischievous at precisely the worst times.

[afoxylady]

I would expect nothing less from one of mine. I daresay I'm proud.

[pruning]

He is a lovely boy.

[pause] As long as he doesn't demolish the shop while I'm away.

I wish I could give you some solace, but with one so young...

... Hopefully the others will manage a bit better.

[ Laughs, lightly. ] Hopefully.

Have you any ideas yet about a place to stay?

[a place to stay...] I must admit I hadn't thought about it.

I have to admit I do enjoy your company. So, if you don't mind two roommates, you're certainly welcome to share our space... bare as it is.

And I yours. I would love to, if you're certain I won't be stepping on any toes...

My boys are complainers at heart, but don't let it concern you. You're certainly welcome to share my fur, since our sleeping space is a little limited. I'll try to steal more blankets from the main apartment.

Gian is the older blond and the younger is my Tiny King, Gilgamesh. I can introduce you to the rest main apartment if you wish, later on.

Oh, yes. He's... maybe thirteen. Younger. He said I would make a good whore, he's rather charming. [ Laughs! ]

Have you ever read the Epic of Gilgamesh?

He sounds like most thirteen year old boys I've met.
