I'm not sure I follow.

Some of them will make trade goods for the gods, in case I should find myself in need. Others will doubtless be used when I rebuild them into constructs.

Necromantic, yes.

How does that work?

I assume you don't want the technical explanation; in basic terms, I'm capable of animating constructs of bone and flesh, once I build them.

I wouldn't mind a technical one, but at the very least, I'd need a general understanding of necromancy for it to make any sense.

We don't have that where I come from.

Necromancy is the direction and manipulation of the Essence whose qualities and aspects form the Underworld, or the world of the dead; one might call it magic, though the term isn't precisely accurate and apparently implies a nonexistent lack of rigor. Through it, one can, among a number of other uses, restore animation to dead flesh and bone, whether temporary or permanent.

So, what are the characteristics of magic, like that of say, Tohsaka-san?

Without having studied her particular style, I can at least say that it draws on the Essence of the living world, rather than the world of the dead. I imagine it's somewhat more versatile at the cost of a certain degree of specialization, but she and I haven't thoroughly compared our metaphysics yet.

I'd like to be informed of that, if possible.

A slight tangent: how would compare your world to Thusia? Skill limitations aside.

Well, to begin with, the human race is not extinct, and most of it is quite civilized.

Really, I think comparisons with Thusia are going to be difficult for anyone who didn't already come from one of those interworld nexii.

Like Sabra La Tau or the zombie summer camp?

I hadn't heard about the camp, but yes.

One can draw parallels between Thusia and Sabra, but "camp" defies logic. Though I suppose expecting logic from a place that draws individuals from various worlds and places them in a year-round Summer camp with a horde of the undead is . . .

Expands their views on what is true or possible. To cling to preconceived concepts established in one's own world and base all thought solely on them could prove to be crippling here. For me, anyway.

Hmm. I certainly don't disagree -- I didn't mean to imply disbelief, for that matter, only that it was odd.

The question of why I kept asking about various things would have been an inevitability.

It felt like a good segue.

Fair enough. Though I always consider the search for understanding valuable, personally.

And with the varied-- and growing-- populace, the amount of unknown things is. . . daunting.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a deterrent, nor am I masochistic enough to say that I enjoy the challenge, but until I can personally redefine what is "possible" and "probable. . . " It might be better for me to stick to writing mystery novels.

I'd advise you not to give up the attempt easily, personally. All perspective has value.

I have no intention of giving up, but if I don't have a good understanding of what I could possibly come across, I'm recklessly endangering myself. I won't delude myself into thinking everyone brought here is a saint; and someone with malicious intent dangerous enough with something as simple as a rock or stick in their hands. I'm sure I don't have have to tell you what they'd do with something stronger than that.

Furthermore, abilities aren't limited to what's gained prior to arriving in Thusia: It's just a hunch, but. . .
