[cleared up from the events of last night and whatever earlier moments of the day, the Common Area's now sporting some tables pushed against a wall with food and drink spread out for those who would want something to munch on. opposite of this would be the masked ninja that advertised said meeting, standing in front of the windows, posture in its usual slump and seemingly lazy eye distracted by the views outside. somewhere nearby will also be that blonde people may remember as advertising the police force, pointedly standing with arms crossed, making a point to keep a CLOSE EYE on the people who attend the meeting]

I'd like to go ahead and throw in my two bits for a council, or other type of group. It seems to me that we have too many people from radically different cultures and backgrounds for a single leader to act in the interest of the whole.

I'm not gonna expect outsiders to go along with it, and I'm not gonna go along with some other government either.

Dealing with murder and torture isn't the kind of shit that needs a government. We don't need some council or leader telling us how to handle this shit. We just need to agree here and now what we want to do that doesn't end in letting fucking serial killer sociopaths wander around freely. It's a one time agreement that needs to be made, not some continuing bullshit. Yeah, we've got Excel and Haruto offering themselves up as some authority, but that doesn't add up to a government either. The decision made today is going to deal with what their exact role is too. They're a tool—[crap phrase this in Excel friendly language]—a . . . a hammer of justice that we're deciding how to use.

There needs to be some oversight about who gets appointed to what. Somebody's gone and declared herself sheriff without asking anybody about it, and SOME of us happen to know that she's violent and plays favourites. Personally, I'd feel a whole FUCK of a lot safer if I didn't have to turn to somebody who's ATTACKED me and ATTACKED my friends in case something happens.

The gods I've spoken to or heard about other people speaking with aren't going to get involved at all. Dellen herself said she won't help even if she brings in murderers. How this gets handled is entirely in our hands according to them.

I said this was a process. How we go about handling that is how we may end up handling other issues. If that's going to be the case, getting a rough idea at the very least about these things will help us in the long-run.

Try to keep personal issues in check when discussing these issues.

But as for the concern: overseeing law enforcement is going to be discussed more in full later. But if you have something to say about who should be making those decisions and how, by all means, say so.

That can't be avoided, obviously. Nor can we completely isolate those who've already become priests. But systematizing their involvement beyond that, especially if we're trying to come up with a ruling body... That's my concern.

Rules and laws can be considered when we know who will be the ones to actually implement them. Basically, even if we set rules, there's no guarantee everyone will know of them or support them, so we need to have at least a central body to organize those things.
