What: Long awaited meeting...

[cleared up from the events of last night and whatever earlier moments of the day, the Common Area's now sporting some tables pushed against a wall with food and drink spread out for those who would want something to munch on. opposite of this would be the masked ninja that advertised said meeting, standing in front of the windows, posture in its usual slump and seemingly lazy eye distracted by the views outside. somewhere nearby will also be that blonde people may remember as advertising the police force, pointedly standing with arms crossed, making a point to keep a CLOSE EYE on the people who attend the meeting]

Despite how this might feel like not much was done, this meeting was less about finalizing things and more to get things rolling.

So far, it's been pretty much agreed that if there is a governing system to be put into place there needs to be a representative system since there's so many different people from different worlds and more people coming in all the time. In addition to this, we know that the rules for now need to be that murder and excessive violence are things that should be punished and-or handled accordingly. Which, in turn means we have to figure out a way to not only determine who the proper criminals are and enforce said laws.

Now, this does not mean this is the end-all be-all. This is just the general consensus from what's been said in this meeting. For more definitive things, we're either going to have to have another meeting or simply take a vote, going apartment by apartment.

For those taking in new people when they arrive: be sure to at least establish that there is a baseline--in other words, what's been said here. Or even just the fact that these things are being discussed.

It's a long process, so if you're frustrated by what may come across as slow progress--just keep in mind that people do want to work to make this place better than it currently is for the ones who want to have their chance to live relatively peacefully in this place.

As far as enforcement goes, I will be speaking with Eizon about whether or not the gods intend to revive everyone who is killed whether people come to them or not--as they do have access to the souls of those who die here--as well as the possibility of obtaining some sort of accessory that can shock or induce paralysis based on specific actions, for the purpose of dealing with violent criminals.

If there is anything else people wish for me to ask him, please let me know what it is and I will post the results near the entrance to the common area when I know.

[As the last of the people shuffle out, there's a swirl from Tempest's cloak and Ptou is standing there, rubbing at the back of his neck.]

It went smoother than I thought it would, at least. I think only one person had to be removed...

Agree? No... probably not, but they'll form their own... They're already there, from Sabra, from their homes, from classes and books, a potpourri of what they know or think they do... eventually habit will push it all together.

[... And hesitates at the door of their apartment.]

[Nearly bumping into him when he hesitates, still lost in thought]

[There's a moment... and he shakes his head, continuing through the threshhold a bit of a quiet expression himself before speaking up.]

[You know, when you were at Sabra, you never really thought about it. It was so second nature, everyone spoke it, you never thought about understanding it... but it is a startling language swap next to Thusian. Soft vowels and sharp consonants lends a bit of natural cadence to the words.]

I assume that the plans you were making, are long term ones, correct?

[Yeah, that's. That's not what he expected at all.]

You've had a certain look particular to you since a certain subject.

[He looks confused for another moment before- it suddenly seems to click, and the guilt is instant.]

I'm at least 95 percent sure you wouldn't right now, anyway.

[Several long moments pass in silence before he ducks his head, looking away]

No, I wouldn't.

... I'm sorry...

There's precious little you could be apologizing for that actually warrants it.

[Normally the words would be light and airy... now they're just quiet, a little neutral, as he settles on the couch.]

It's the precious little that's the problem.

[He doesn't join him on the couch, just stands in front of him quietly]

... I don't make promises I don't intend to keep.

[He nods, and the smile is a brighter one, grateful.]

I find myself a little torn on the subject between understanding and selfishness. It's a unique and rather unenviable bit of emotions at the moment. I'll get it sorted out... but I did have to ask.

I'm doing something wrong if you had to ask that at all. There's a reason I chose not to say anything.

[He tilts his head.]

I've never read minds, nor, as good as I am at what's said and not said... it's a subject that's never come up, other than the lingering taste that life as it continues, is a regret.

I understand it, quite dearly... But as long as there is a question... it's better to get an answer than to suppose one.

... Three weeks ago, I would have told you no. But things have changed.

[Just reaches over, snags the corner of your sleeve and tugs you towards the couch.]
