Who: Everyone
When: Day 40, later-morning
Where: Common Area
What: Long awaited meeting...

[cleared up from the events of last night and whatever earlier moments of the day, the Common Area's now sporting some tables pushed against a wall with food and drink spread out for those who would want something to munch on. opposite of this would be the masked ninja that advertised said meeting, standing in front of the windows, posture in its usual slump and seemingly lazy eye distracted by the views outside. somewhere nearby will also be that blonde people may remember as advertising the police force, pointedly standing with arms crossed, making a point to keep a CLOSE EYE on the people who attend the meeting]

I know it goes without saying, but there should be certain standards enforcers are held to. Those with power have obligations and all that.

And there should be some enforcers who aren't patronned to gods, period. People need to trust the enforcers and some people just don't trust gods.

Or even try and get an enforcer from each of the 'groups' we got going on. That way, people in general want to listen for the sake of the person they're tied to and it helps make the enforcer group as a whole act more fairly.

Lawyers aren't jailers, just throwing that out there. Also, I'm not weak, but I'm pretty sure almost every person in this room could over power me.

But as I said to Miss Razzy, I'd be more than willing to mediate and negotiate in more complicated situations where there isn't a clear cut solution.

Yeah. I don't think that's something that should have a hard and fast rule attached. There're too many exceptions.

Anyway, how about a "three strikes and you're out" system re: murder? Extenuating circumstances happen, and sometimes people just plain go nuts, but once people hit that serial status, let's just wipe 'em out.

I'm not saying you are, Apollo-san. But you've got a lot of experience, and we can use that.

So you'd trust them to make a man a slave under their control, but not to tell the truth of an issue? [He snorts.]

All I'm arguing is that the soft approach will not end a damn thing. Make an example, merciless and strong, and make it permanent, or accept that there is no value to your justice.

There's no reason to tolerate that sort of behavior, regardless of the circumstances that brought us here.

This place can be better than that.

[. . .]

Could. Could we limit that to two, or just go by a case by case basis? Really now, if you apply three strikes to everyone in this room, think of how many dead bodies could pile up without consequence if we all have an off day.

If we can't get the gods to agree not to revive certain individuals, we just dispose of the body. Can't revive something that isn't there.

We could try and get a jail? We are getting more space. For those who are really dangerous.

Though we could have a problem with abilities. Some people could bust out or something, so we would probably need to get some god to keep it secure until we figure something out.

If we DO get a trial system going, we could have a victim suggest a punishment and then have someone more impartial make a more suitable punishment from that?

How do we choose who to put onto the council, though? And what positions will we have? I agree with you, but choosing anyone will be hard just because we're not united in any way.

Leave it to the lawyer to expect that everyone in this room is gonna go around shanking people willy-nilly. And I didn't say there wouldn't be consequences for earlier offenses. I'm saying that the final consequence needs to be a final consequence.

That having been said, the number is negotiable!

Oh, and...I'd really like it if we didn't just resort to whipping up "mobs." It's...let's try mediation, okay?

I volunteered to help with the law enforcement efforts, but I'm not patroned to a god. I don't think I ever will be, either.

I agree with the idea of a representative from each group, if there's somebody who's interested. It might be enough to dilute bias.

How are we going to build a jail? One that no one can break out of? Zhen Ji's already said his metal isn't good for construction. Even trying to reinforce an apartment with some wouldn't work well.

What sort of murder has been happening? Multiple culprits?
