I was propositioned by a goddess to play a game, and whisked away to a dying world to participate. The cost of entry was losing my memories, which I regained out of order, one by one, over the course of several months. After I won the game, I was given a wish. I used it to take my mind back.

That does bring up quite the variety of questions. But we'll take them one at a time, shall we?

'Take my mind back.' Did you keep it then? Choice.

What a waste of a wish, to lose such useful skills. I still have them. You'll find them limited here, though.

[His mind will get stuck on this fact for a few moments. Well, that and having powers and no monsters to match. But he gets back on track.]

No. The Earl was simply going to lose. In that 'game' there were half a dozen exorcists prepared to use their wishes to destroy us, the akuma, and 'fix' whatever else they might dream up. As far as our side goes, there was only me.

So then why do believe it was the family that killed you?

I made my wish and left before the exorcists did. So it was a matter of whether or not they would win and destroy the rest of the Noah before I was found. I suppose the Order had just as much reason to want me dead but I prefer to think that it wasn't at their hands.

They did manage to kill Allen Walker, though, so I suppose they must've gathered a decent amount of power.

I still think there are some missing pieces, but let's see if I understand correctly.

The Boss is certain to fail. These 'wishes' would do him and the rest of the Noah in. So it was either die with them or live apart from them.

The Boss finds out you aren't coming back, and he labels you a traitor. Hence, why they killed you.

I find it hard to believe you would side with the Order, but I'm not putting it off the table. Why else would you not want it to be them that killed you?

That part is entirely because it would be embarrassing. Which I suppose you should understand well now.

Because it would be embarrassing?

That's what you are worried about. After being pulled into who knows where and stripped of your memories only to get them back little by little. Not to mention the wishes. And here you are worried about the details of your death being a little humbling because the Order killed you.

[Attempting to get into the other's personal space now, but at least he has a happy face on. Or at least an entertained one.]

Hoh. What are you expecting exactly? I lived my life, made my choices, and died. I have no complaints with any of it, but at the very least I prefer my death go to those that had the most right to it.

And my amnesia and the results of those caves aren't news to me. You're the one choosing that of all things to focus on.

[Good. Good. Doesn't really much care that the other seems unhappy. Placing a hand on each shoulder if he isn't blocked.]

You must admit you'd be curious if our roles were reversed. And maybe you are curious wondering what it would be like should those monsters still whisper in your head. And I'm not talking about regretting the choice you made, but simply pondering the possibilities.

And I'm not expecting anything. Just following your train of thought that led you to this point.

[lifts a hand to knock one of yours off, not aggressively just, rejecting.]

I suppose I wonder that about as much as you wonder what might have happened if we'd never had a monster at all.

[Pulls his other hand back holding them both out to his sides.]

But that still leaves me with one question if you are willing to indulge. Do you hate them? Your Noah family.

I'm not quite sure if this is real or not. How convenient you are the first one I meet and then one by one friends of yours or people I know start showing up. A nice little package. Also convenient that upon my arrival here, Noah Memories which are supposed to be reborn are still dancing in my head. Odd, don't you think?
