(no subject)

Who: Librarian, whoever
When: Day 36, early evening
Where: Apartment L
What: frustration!!!

[If you pass by Apartment L today, you might notice something is terribly, horribly amiss. It's a mess!! Torn out pages are scattered everywhere, some crumpled and tossed at the wall, some just discarded to one side. There's so many wads of paper that they're scattered out into the hallway even.

And what is causing this paper holocaust? Some jerk curled up near the door of Apt. L, scribbling furiously in his notebook. As soon as it looks like he's getting close to finishing his sketch, he frowns at it, tears the page out, and crumples it up. Anyone picking up a paper will see that he's sketched similar things on those pages. Technical digrams of some kind, and not half bad either.]

Why isn't it right?

That much is very understandably difficult.

. . . what do you want from your writings, Aidan?

[Looks quietly at the scattered, discarded papers.]

If you can produce a first draft, I will teach you what I know of penmanship.

It isn't a manuscript, it's an exercise. What becomes of it after is of no concern of mine; if you find its presence overly discomfiting, I'm sure either Henrietta or Kalidas would adequately remove it from existence.

We will have cleared space above by then; the markings on the door designate it apartment Η. If our paths do not otherwise cross, you will find me there.

Judging by the surrounding doors, it's likely Greek—one of Earth's classical languages. 'Eta'.

Why such a lingual system is present here is curious.

I would not expect you to. It was an idle thought, nothing more.
