[Nova is . . . coaxing Excel through the hall to Apt E this morning. She seems laughably more skittish and uneasy about existence in general today with none of her usual over the top confidence and constant waiting for an opportunity to subjugate and/or show off her authority.

Anyway . . . How've things been for you here?

Oh, fine. I tend to keep my head low so to speak. So. Not much of anything.

What's a guy like you need to lay low for?

Don't need to. I just do.

Still not sure exactly what to make of myself in this world yet, ya know?

So I just been thinking a lot and. Yeah.

I've been just . . . [gestures vaguely] Doing things. Eventually something's gotta stick, right?

Yeah . . . What if I told you what we're doing to focus on is forming a—well . . . more like a clan right now, I guess . . . Something more organized than sticking it out in individual apartments.

Like taking over a floor for ourselves?

I think it's too early to take over a whole floor unless we recruit a lot of people. Other guys still need room . . . We could connect apartments with portals if we wanted to, but it's more like . . . We want to collectively work towards moving outside. It'll take a long time even with a group working towards it, but not as fucking long as it'd be with a lot of apartments going at it individually.

Yeah! If it's a big group, we can pool ideas and information we've figured out about how to make it work.

I may not have ability but I got plenty of knowledge.

You've got fighting ability too. We'll have need for both.

Maybe but Claude would be better use right now. Bet he could build a home.

Yeah . . . but I think Fang and Excel and I can figure that out between the three of us. We know enough about physics and some construction to get plans that will actually work.

I volunteer for lumberjack duty.
