while the rest of ya'll were trying to do sensible things like learn about the situation, Slick decided to take himself and his godmode to go kill everything as a nice little stress reliever

UNFORTUNATELY he didn't figure out that he'd been power capped.

So after a rather short and unpleasant exploration, Slick stumbles back to the apartment, bleeding heavily. Mostly from a dozen or so long claw marks on his back and a few heavy, deep bites on his shoulders and arms.

Yeah. We're also missing bandages, disinfectant, gels, and a way to heal that guy who's bleeding to death over by the wall.

The lungs, hearts, and rib cages of beasts will satisfy me. And with that I can close his wounds enough that he will not scar.

But please, do not go alone. I don't know of what skills or magics you expect to have, but if they do not work here, fighting alone would be suicide.

I do not know the magics of your world, or your skills. It is possible one of us could offer a substitute, if you described it, or you could embrace the powers of this world. In the past, the most powerful humans were also the most devout.

... Devout? You mean like priests?

Of course. I don't know how it worked where you are from, but here all power comes from us. Anyone can get by in life by paying the necessary toll for water and electricity, good fortune and good health. But if you wish to share our power you must be able offer your constant loyalty.

Sounds alarmingly like the Empire...

So what does loyalty entail?

An Empire is nothing but a united rise of civilization, and that is exactly what we wish to be, Yuri.

Loyalty... depends on who you speak to. For me, it means generosity, protection, and love. Others prefer to see their priests exemplify different... 'virtues'.

I didn't really care of the Empire all that much.

So could you provide aer? It's--a kind of energy.

Perhaps your empire had it's grievances. Certainly I am not under the delusion that my children are flawless. But if it is a concern of yours, be glad you will be among the first set the foundations for this one.

I can only offer magic that connects to the element of water. If 'aer' has that nature, then perhaps.
