So what makes a person?

I am a clone.

I'm not sure what that means.

I am an exact genetic copy of a person, fabricated in a laboratory and excised from a womb.

[nodding and looking thoughtful]

So you were born a little differently than others?

I was not born.

[straightening]

The Fair Folk are little more than literal chaos that has confined itself to a set shape to fulfill its purposes. But having taken that shape, they eat, breathe and grow. They feel. They live. They die.

Should you, or they, receive any less consideration just because it wasn't the same way I came into Creation?

I am a weapon.

Even a weapon requires maintenance.

I should not have existed.

And my soul was supposed to be removed from the cycle of reincarnation over two thousand years ago, but here we are.

I do not understand.

Where I'm from, the First Age ended in a bloody usurpation. Now the cycle of reincarnation is turning, and those who were killed are being reborn -- and wherever they find us, the usurpers band together to kill us again. They think that we're unclean. That we're demons.

We're not.

So maybe I'm a little biased when I say it, but I don't think it's fair not to treat you nicely just because of the circumstances of your birth. Or creation.

The Weapon X Project created weapons with no purpose other than to kill others.

Do you like the project?

Then it probably doesn't matter if you fulfill the project's purpose.
