Did someone move out and forget to take their houseplant?

I would just as much like to not talk about it. That is-- it's what humans would consider well in the past, now.
But don't be fooled, dear Yuri. There is nothing tame about them. This is a dangerous world, now.

Of course dear. But it's a story centuries long. How about this? Our world has been overrun, and humanity, my--

Sounds like serious work.

[GESTURES TO THE KITCHEN TAP, TRY IT YOURSELF!!]
Food you will find as you destroy what lies out there. Though I warn you, bring it to one of us for purification first. You will find them quite unpleasantly poisonous otherwise. As for the rest... you make it yourself, or make deals with us. We each have things we may provide, but nothing can be free.

Hot and cold... Not bad.

I can provide you with items made of glass, even dishware, though they would be rather delicate. I will need regular sacrifices for water, but you can have all you want. I know it isn't terribly civilized yet, but this place is really quite something when it's not so desecrated.

You do want quite a lot, don't you? [hmm] I would rather you not deal with that man, but I seem to recall he has a liking for large pots. Blankets, I believe Henrietta can help with, but for anything more you will need to harvest from out there. [dismissive wave toward the door] Once properly dead and purified, you will see that nature has many conveniences to offer. Carve their bones for your utensils, skin them for their warm furs, and so on.
As for time keeping, Henrietta can provide you with candles, even specially burning ones that will count the hours. That's how humans did it before they figured out clockwork, you know.

And you brought us here, you and your friends. Say we help you out and clean up a little... Can you send us back?
