Holy beings, such as angels or gods, draw power from human worship — awe energy. But fear energy, which like its namesake draws from human fear, is reserved for demons such as myself! What right do gods have to siphon away what rightfully belongs to us?

Interesting... although I think you'll find that the gods here don't have the same rules. They draw power from sacrifices and tribute, so that's normal, but the poisonous overtaking isn't their doing.
