I'm not sure how you'd eat magical energy, but I suppose in a proper afterlife, anything's possible.

I only had them for about half a day. They were the result of an energy discharge from a powerful being's death.

If you can eat a memory, why can't you eat magic? What I don't get is how someone is supposed to eat their hat.

You were in Sabra La Tau, right? I was there too, a long time ago. Edward, from Delphinus.

It's been years and years for me, Cheer. Fifty, in fact. I've had a pretty long life.

Fifty! Nice. I only got one... Oh--how do you remember leaving Sabra?

Hmm... we helped Messenger defeat King, then he took King's place--but was a lot smaller of a statue walking around--and granted us all our wishes. And then Jim transported us all to his ship and took us all home.

What do you remember?

That, exactly that. That's what happened and that's what was supposed to happen. Tide and Razzy remember, too. But Badger and Quartz--who got tall, too--they remember Messenger losing. And Orion didn't even make it out of prom. So...it's a little confusing. --But anyway, how are you?

So there's at least three timelines that exist from this...

I'd be better if I wasn't here, but I had a good life. It's still sinking in, I guess. What about you? How long were you out? How long have you been here?

After we won, I went home with my sister and Daisy... That was about a year ago. I was actually on my way to the Enterprise to visit Ashikawa when I ended up here. And that was...three, four days ago?

Only a year... it's a shame, you should have had longer. Daisy was pretty happy to be going with you, too.

Are there others who remember things the way they should be?

Ah... You know, I don't mind the death part so much, I just wish I wasn't stuck so far away. I mean, I know everyone will be fine without me, but still...

M-more importantly, yeah, there are. Tide and Razzy, I think, and June, from Lepus...maybe some other people. I haven't met everyone yet.

I had fifty years with my family, and I wish I was still with them, too.

...There really are a lot of us here. Is everyone else still young?

They're your family. You're supposed to want to be with them. ...Did you make it back with your raptor boyfriend guy?

Pretty much. Some people are a little bit older, but not that much. You might be stuck as the lone grandpa for a while.

There's too many kids here. You all should have had a better chance at life in a normal world.

*shrugs* I'm the third out of three in my immediate family to die. Feys aren't quite known for their longevity. Either way, I figure we'll find a way out of here sooner or later, and then we can all get back to where we're supposed to be.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Even if there's no way back, if there's a way forward to a better place, I can be content with that... but for your sakes, I hope there's a way back, too.

We're all spirit channelers, whether you're hosting the spirit or you are the spirit, it's not such a big deal.

We'll find out! Ashikawa and some of the others are already on it. That kind of planning isn't really my strong suit, so I'm just working on making day-to-day life here less troublesome. --Oh yeah, did anyone tell you about any of that stuff?

Spirit channelers... there were always more powers and skills collected in Sabra than I could have imagined myself.

Becca gave me a bit of a rundown, and Ikki filled in a little for me too, but I'll take all the information I can get about what's ahead of me.

If you need any spirits talked to, then let me know! I wonder if I could channel a god? Probably not for very long, though...

Anyway, I'm still getting the hang of things myself. But for the most part, food is poisoned, outside is dangerous, gotta find and furnish your own place. But death is super-cheap to come back from, and there seems to be gods who'll provide pretty much anything you need. I mean, you can have a toilet inside.

So it's not quite as rough as life was in Sabra in at least some ways, then. But not as good as the place I came from.

This part about finding a place to live sounds like it will be tricky, but I've never backed down from a challenge before. I'll work it out.

Yeah, it's totally easier than Sabra. The main thing is getting stir crazy... There isn't much space, and everyone says outside is dangerous. I don't know how true that is, though.

I suppose I'll find out as I'm here longer. Maybe we can go find the truth about outside together, later.
