[ Okay mighty explorers, there are now two uncleared hallways, a set of stairs (though the one up still has a blob thing stuck in it), and what's looking to be a large open area with a pathway to the outdoors. And, of course, outside the building itself. ]

[ If you're one of the later explorers, or just interested in seeing the nightlife of Thusia, you may notice a thick mist settling into the building the later it gets. ]

[ Pick your poison. ]

[ Cuddle cuddle cuddle- ]

[ Suddenly it uncurls itself from Robin's arm and crawls up onto his shoulder as the putrid stench of something rotting floats in from further down the hallway. The sound of awkward padding through the moss is vaguely audible. ]

... uh, guys...

...That can't be good.

[SPEEDGUN READY AND AIMED FOR THE SOURCE OF THE SOUND, JUST IN CASE]

[ Slowly, slowly whatever stinks approaches, and the stench only gets worse. But eventually what comes into sight is a lone lizagon, looking dangerously unhealthy, and moving in jerky motions. There are several gashes on it that look scarily familiar, with a bright red flower peeking out from one of them. ]

[ As slow as it was approaching, the moment it seems to notice you, it bursts with unexpected speed and starts making its way if jerkily towards you! ]

[there is nothing okay about this]

[BATARANG TIME]

Let's move!

[fires a couple of shots off at the lizagon's legs, trying to cripple it]

[ The batarang hits its target!! And then sticks there. Without bleeding. ]

[ A bullet manages to hit, but goes in with much of the same results as the batarang. IT CHARGES ON, HEEDLESS OF INJURY. The stench is clogging up your noses now. The rodent is now actively burying its nose in Robin's hair and shaking. ]

[moves enough to keep distance between himself and the rampaging monster, tossing another batarang]

[this one goes boom.]

[ It blows off a front leg, half its face, and a part of its body!!! ]

[ It's still running!!!!! Kind of awkwardly, but now it's dangerously close and its half mouth is open. And though it's hard to see, something looks off about its visible insides. ]

[fires a superfast spray of bullets across, trying to take out the other leg. because man do i ever want to examine this thing]

[ That wasn't near enough bullets to cut down this thing, and it's jumping up and biting into Robin's arm. Now there's rotting flesh right in your face and it's biting you. ]

[PANIC MODE ACTIVATED, THANK YOU ZOMBIETRAUMA]

[chokes back a noise that's dangerously close to a scream, plunging the sharp end of a batarang into the nearest dragonpart he can reach]

No!

[FIRING SEVERAL SHOTS STRAIGHT INTO THE ZOMBIEDRAGON'S HEAD oh god oh god oh god]

[fuckingnature]

[ THE BULLETS HAVE NO EFFECT, but at this range it's easier to tell that they and the batarang seem to be impacting what feels like thick sections of solid bone. ]

[ Robin is steadily being drained of blood as the thing grabs onto his arm with its other front leg. ]

[JUST GONNA KEEP... TRYING TO STAB IT...]

Ghh— KF, get out of here!

[full on panic now, but luckily he has speedster brain and can think fast enough to not completely shut down]

No! Hang on!

[runs down to the other end of the hallway, then near-speed-of-light rams himself into the thing, trying to shove it off Robin again]

[ Most of the body is torn off, leaving only the attached head, foreleg, and part of its body. It continues sucking and sucking and su.. ck...ing... ]

[ And then it's dead rotting weight. The pieces you rammed off jerkily move around in creepy ways and slowly come to a stop as well. That cute fuzzy thing is curled around Robin's head and shaking. ]

[slumps against a wall and onto the floor, breathing fast and ragged]

[surprisingly it does not take that much blood loss and sheer panic to make an 80 pound kid seriously weak]

[pulling the rotted dead meat off of you and flinging it away, almost throwing the fuzzy thing as well, but almost as an afterthought setting it on the ground instead of chucking it, then inspecting all of Robin's wounds]


Rob, Robin, talk to me.

[closely inspecting the bitemarks]

It's okay, they don't look like— [can't even say "Infected bites" because no, zombietrauma needs to get thoroughly repressed again]

[wraps an arm around your waist to haul you up, because your shoulder looks too fucked up]

Come on, we can get this fixed. You're going to be okay.
