Ordering a man to destroy his whole clan really is tasteless. How many people were there? I wonder what caused such a awful thing.

Both surviving members are currently enemies of my village. They would destroy it if given the chance.

After all, I only learned of this shortly before the most recent war started.
As much as I also can understand it and even reason with it, especially since I was of the same elite squad as that man...

[there's a pause and then he shakes his head]
No, more than that, the idea of a entire clan being wiped out leaves a bad taste in my mouth, no matter the reason behind it. Even if I can understand it, it's not something I can accept.

But it seems we've gone quite far from the original topic.

Well. Before we get back on topic, let me correct you on something.

People aren't tools for those in power to use. It's those who are in power that should be tools for the people to use.

They weren't tools to be discarded once they expired their use, or to be sacrificed. Even if the Yao clan has benefited from their protection that doesn't mean—!
[there's a short pause here before he talks again]
They were also people to protect.

Officially invited now...? That's kind.

In short: you're not a shinobi, you've only seen the outlaying issues that comes with being a shinobi, and while you understand the focus of a whole and thus a unit, you're overly passionate when it comes to the sacrifices of those pieces.
... to be honest, it's that last point that gave you the pass.

But really, now. You "shinobi" are too much alike.

Nations and maybe even some villages can view their shinobi as mere tools, but... I have come from a line of mentors that tries to go against that ideal.
"Those that break the rules and regulations are trash. But those who abandon their comrades are worse than trash. If I'm going to be called trash either way, I'd rather break the rules. And if that's not being a proper shinobi, then I'll destroy that idea"--these are the words my best friend, an Uchiha--the one who gave me this eye, said to me before he was killed saving my life.
That is only the shinobi way I will accept.
