I don't think we have such a thing in my world...or if we do, that's not the word we use.

There is another here who uses a different word, but she resembles the elves of my world, to a degree.

In what ways are they different from humans?

[touches her ear]

A full-blooded elf's ears are longer than mine, and they are a bit taller as well. Fair-haired and fair-skinned, though that differs on where they are from. [she waves a hand] They also live for hundreds of years.

That...sounds a lot like demons, in my world.

How do humans view them?

We have demons too, but they are mostly stories.

[shrugs a shoulder] As they would any other race, I suppose. Some get along, some do not. And neither are fond of my kind.

... I take it someone who's half isn't very common, then. [Or approved of. But :X]

They are, but we have the advantage, so to speak, of blending in.

And I'm guessing magic is part of that. [Indicating the lizard bacon bits]

Somewhat. But to an elf, we look human; to a human, we look elven. That is what I mean by blending in.

[Blinking, looking her over]

Is it just a matter of perception?

[fixes her hair, so it covers her ear again]

Mmm. I prefer to let people think what they want. It saves time, and arguments. [thoughtfully] And I rather like being a bit mysterious.

... Mysterious?

Well, it seems to be working. That's why I felt compelled to ask.

Ah, but I am less of a mystery now.

Well...it's hard to stay completely mysterious to the people you're living with, right?

I wonder.

Or...I guess you could still try, if you wanted.

Some mystery couldn't hurt.

Is it one of those "feminine wiles" things?

My, do I look like the type to believe in such things?

I don't know. That's the point of being mysterious, isn't it?
