[He turns his gaze towards the nearest window and the green forest beyond.]

My body is running the course caused by my choices and my fate.

[He looks at Langer again and takes a small step forward, presenting his hand.]

I am no healthier or sicker than that.

[hesitates and reaches for the hand, fingers sliding over the palm to the wrist to check the pulse automatically]

[He does have a pulse! Though, depending on how thorough Langer's examination is, he might figure out his body is certainly not human, and many cells are much, much older than a human's should be. Everything seems to be working at the moment, though levels of energy are very low.]

[can't tell most of that without tasting his blood, so just sticking with the pulse for now]
