[It's hard for a god concerned with bringing back civilization not to be restless lately--especially with how things had been progressing--Anima's "celebration" probably didn't put them in a better mood either.

Those gods still interested in pulling in new souls seem to have been having a hard time of it. Generally unused to working together in a large group for consistent periods of time, many gods have wandered off or become indisposed in various ways, and the number of them able or willing to donate their power keeps fluctuating. For a while now it seemed as if they were casting out their lines and coming back with nothing.

Even so, they continue to cast out blindly, but being unable to truly see beyond the borders of their own world's realm, to determine what's going wrong, it's difficult to say if this desperate bid has stopped working...

But today, something a little unexpected happens...]

[ Because people are inherently selfish and wouldn't do anything just for the sake of "helping." Something has to be in it for them. But she'll leave that aside and keep linefacing like she always does. ]

What are your skills?

Skills... I catch on to things pretty quick! I guess I'm all right with cooking and cleaning. Oh, and I can play the piano?

Some gods accept cooking and cleaning done in their name as service and will give you something within their domain as payment.

A bit like a job, then, I see.

How about you? What do you do around here?

[ she nods at that. ]

There's no official currency and everyone is still reliant on the gods, so one must provide service to receive it. Even if there's nothing in particular you'd like now, there's no harm in doing something for a god of interest.

I write reports on Thusian events.

[ she even has a thick stack of reports with her. ]

There are also copies in the library.

You must write a lot! I'll have to take a look later. Are you doing it because of a god?

Public interest.

A society is only as strong as its weakest link. I'm in no position to teach people how to hunt or fight, but I can inform them.

I suppose I can do those things too - hunt and fight, that is.

You can try and convince the others if you want.

Things that are hunted might need to be purified by the gods prior to consumption.

It used to be toxic to newcomers.

However, the food in the public kitchen on level 3 is already ready to use.

There are more than enough violent crazies who love hunting to stock the kitchen. ]

[ She's eyeing this friendly person so suspiciously. ]

[ She's lying, but unless she has magic psychic powers (or a lot of experience with lying linefacers with issues) it might be hard to tell. ]

This Juri person doesn't seem to be deliberately baiting her, so there's no reason to be more guarded than usual. Which is still really guarded by normal standards. ]

Her tone is cool and short, though snatches of Japanese-style feminine speech creep into it, like she's making a conscious effort to sound like like a hardass, but ladylike phrasing happens on reflex. ]
