[It's hard for a god concerned with bringing back civilization not to be restless lately--especially with how things had been progressing--Anima's "celebration" probably didn't put them in a better mood either.

Those gods still interested in pulling in new souls seem to have been having a hard time of it. Generally unused to working together in a large group for consistent periods of time, many gods have wandered off or become indisposed in various ways, and the number of them able or willing to donate their power keeps fluctuating. For a while now it seemed as if they were casting out their lines and coming back with nothing.

Even so, they continue to cast out blindly, but being unable to truly see beyond the borders of their own world's realm, to determine what's going wrong, it's difficult to say if this desperate bid has stopped working...

But today, something a little unexpected happens...]

The voice, I mean. It could ask, and I agreed to it. Not everyone's asked, but it didn't mention there weren't others...

If I hadn't said yes, it said it would let me go on to wherever I was headed.

Not before you...three? It appears to be three, there were multiple people who were different. If this is the reason for the feeling.

So it said it didn't ask everyone?

Hmm, no, that's not it... I mean, I get the feeling it came from some place else. So maybe it wasn't always there?

[Okay, this is very weird, but this is a bit haphazard.]

Can you start from the beginning? Tell me everything you remember about the encounter?

Everything? Everything. Hmm....

That was most of it, really. I was aware, it spoke to me. It told me about a world with people trying to save it, or were sent to save it. Things weren't all right, and they weren't all right with the voice either, and being - ah, and being alive would help it! Oh, but it said that part later. Firstly, Miss Voice said that people with power should use it to help others, so it's trying to help. But before the voice was there it came from... ...it came from here? Or some place else...

[Head tilts as she thinks back.]

Miss Voice? Was it a woman?

...it said you being alive would help it?

Well, when it spoke... it sounded a bit like my voice - but it wasn't. I could hear it, or understand it, but it wasn't really sound.

Does that make sense?

[Nods.] Something like that, especially with where you are, is not uncommon.

[Making note of that.]

As for helping it... it said it was hurt. It didn't say how, though.

Hurt?

[A slight frown.] That is odd.

And it was a little unhappy when I compared it to a god. It seemed to fit, though.

[There is a long pause, pen tapping her clipboard.]

With it's behavior, that might make sense.

And it said itself power should be used to help? Without you prompting that statement?

I think that was the case.

That is a very good mentality to have. Most likely it's intentions are benevolent then.

It was very nice! It asked and everything.
