What: Adventure mingle time!!1 and also less exciting stay at home mingle time

[ the sunrise is bright over the treeline, and the sky promises to be blue all day. Clearly it is a good day for action. Perhaps even adventure. You know there's at least one person is taking up the chance for it.

Maybe you're setting out on your own, or with a few people you know. Maybe you might spot someone else heading away from the safety of HQ. Or maybe you're just hanging out back home because there's enough for you to do. ]

[ god, saying it out loud is just like stabbing him. he recoils, squeezing his eyes shut while he tries to get a fucking grip. ]

[That look on Shinji's face is hard on deal with. On the one hand it feels nice to be "in charge" again like a parent should be. On the other hand the part of him that really dearly loves Shinji can't stand it and simply wants to hug him tight like he would once in a blue moon when Shinji was tiny and had had a nightmare. But those days are long gone. Shinji probably doesn't even remember having ever been held, given how small he was at the time.

So instead he just looks troubled and tries to cover it with a grumpy noise.]

[ he makes a similar, irritable noise and trudges past him in a rush with his head down. he would have this horrible conversation every day if it meant he could be out of this fucking forest right this second. between the constant fear and these other stupid byakuya inspired emotions bubbling up, he just walks faster, grumbling. ]

But it's not worth it to push it any further for now, so he just follows quietly and lets Shinji run off to either sulk in his room or do his shopping or whatever else he'll decide to do.]

[ he'll check over his shoulder every now and then to see if byakuya is still following him. he'll huff and start to say something, but it'll dissolve into incoherent mumbling.

once at the apartment he quickly retires to his room with more nervous mumbling, shutting the door and sinking into his bed. THIS IS STUPID THIS SUCKS he's gonna lay here until shirou comes home. ]
