[He pauses, going still for a moment before raising an eyebrow.]

And what are you going to do? You'll have to change to if you want to live.

[ his eyes widen a little. ]

I-I don't know! [ he bites down, clenching his jaw just thinking about it. he died in a not-so-great-place, after all. ]

You can think about it for a few days, I guess. I can take care of you for that long...

I'll figure it out! [ he just needs to talk to shirou. he'll know what to do. ]

I'm sure you will. We should consider trying to get him to move in here, though. Since you guys will be back and forth. Shirou, I mean.

That was really weird. [ now that he really recalls it happening that way. ]

That was because he was originally saved from that fire by Emiya Kiritsugu. Kirei adopted Shirou after killing that man, and Shirou blocked the memories out. The reason you need to know this now is because there's a version of Emiya Kiritsugu here, and Shirou's been told what really happened. Not that he believes it...

[ his face twists. ]

Exactly. That night, he said he was going to meet Emiya Kiritsugu. He came back with Shirou in the morning. Personally I think Shirou would be much better off if he could accept who he is. I'd like him a lot better if he quit trying to be Kotomine Kirei. But right now hearing about it just makes him angry, so be careful.

And be nice to the Emiya family, too.

Probably, and for the better. But I don't think it's possible for him to change so much that he'll be any less involved with you, so don't make that face.

Yeah, I am. Kirei didn't exactly hide it from me or Kariya, okay? And it's Emiya Kiritsugu that gave him that weird urge to save people that he gets sometimes, too.
