[Maybe you have gotten used to the regular hum of the HQ's engines as it flies slowly over a rippling canopy. Maybe you even find their sound soothing as you drift off tonight... Or maybe you don't drift off at all, maybe wherever you are, whatever you were doing, you just find yourself inexplicably sleepy.

Whatever it is, you end up in dreams. Your dreams? Or someone else's? It's hard to say.]

((OOC: DREAM POST!

For those of you who have never participated in a dream post, everyone interested in running a character's dream posts a top level comment and people comment to that to be in that character's dream. There are basically no rules about how it works! Be a lucid dreamer, don't be, figure it out halfway through, push and pull between who controls the dream. w/e have fun! If you need an OOC excuse to be asleep you can totally assume Rew's power just made your character unreasonably tired at some point. Solitary dreamers will find ocean waters rising in and drowning out their dreams, but Rew won't be making any appearances in this post.))

Both. I need to let go, and eventually I will, but you're definitely also a bastard.

Isn't that supposed to be a good quality? You are fond of me, are you not?

Rather. It's increasingly hard in this place, though.

[Oh, well. Following along behind.]

[Eventually, we are going to encounter a few garden-variety guards on our walk. What dream is complete without them, after all?]

[Are they aggressive? What a silly question, of course they are, but Tyki lets them and his companion have the first move. Just watching from back here.]

[Actually. They ignore Haunt completely and go for the other, batons raised.]

[Oh. Oh! Well, that isn't nice. Your nightmares should take their vengeance out on you, you know.]

How unsightly.

[Not using powers, going to sidestep and punch one in the face though this multiple on one thing might not be the best for him.]

[The punch connects and the victim swears angrily while his comrades continue to attack. Also, although Haunt is attempting to help... none of his attacks are making contact for some reason.]

Come now, I've got this.

[Shoulder rushing the man he punched into his comrades and just taking a few hits. Having trouble flexing the fingers of one hand and boy is his side going to hurt tomorrow, but...]

Compared to the wildlife here, you boys aren't very effective, you know.

[Batons he should be able to handle. Guns will be a different matter.]

[No guns, actually!]

[They are UNNATURALLY STRONG AND FAST though, and they seem pretty angry.]

[The lights might also be starting to go off.]

[Oh, er, then he might get overwhelmed and knocked to the ground at some point. Seems somewhat determined not to use his abilities for some odd reason.]

[The light fading is also not helping matters.]

[They seem content to just try and pin you to the floor. Also, when the lights are completely out-- they snap back on again. And then off. And on. Very disorienting.]

[Knows where this is going. Not pleased. Not pleased at all. Half growling at them.]

I will string you up by your insides if you don't back off.

[Nope, no intimidated. One of them even laughs.]

[But GOOD NEWS! Rather abruptly, they all fall apart. Into small chunks of meat. It's all very gross.]

[Haunt seems perplexed by it all, from what can be seen of him in the flickers of light.]

[Gross. Gross. Gross. All but flinging the chunks of meat off him as he gets to his feet.]

Don't you have any happy thoughts.

Plenty. Just apparently not right now. [The lights settle down a bit.]

Do me a favor. Think of them.

I've been trying! It just doesn't work that way.

I'd wake up on my own if I could, too.

[Back to annoyed again. Taking his arm and leading them down the hallway. The lights are irritating.]

Dreams are funny that way. They think you have control, but you really don't have any at all.

It's not exactly like I'm trying to subject you to all this.

[Eventually, the laboratory setting starts to get disjointed, fading into blankness.]
