Everything out here is poisonous to eat if you don't get it cured by the Gods first, without exception. It probably won't be harmful just to touch, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

[Picking a direction and walking in it, working his way slowly around bushes, keeping his eyes low to the ground and kneeling down to inspect things every few metres. In other words, I am counting on you to warn me if there's a predator 'cause I sure as hell ain't gonna notice. I'm busy doing SCIENCE.]

Sorry, I know this isn't as interesting as "conquest", for you.

This is my first close view of our new world. Perhaps not conquest just yet, but certainly no bore.

[Hmmmm... holding up a fern for Rider to see.]

See these ferns? They're just about everywhere, here, and essentially useless as far as I can tell. But keep your eyes peeled for blue ones. They're very, very rare, but apparently they have strong healing properties.

[Spotting another plant and walking over to it, harvesting some.]

Ah, and these ones are good, too. If you put them in water, they light up. Lasts for about three days. I was using them last time in place of electric lights because I didn't want to deal with Eizon...

I don't know about "preferable"... once you have electricity in your apartment it lasts forever and you can use it for a number of different appliances, but there's really nothing I can offer that guy, so I've been putting it off as long as possible...
