What: A tea party~

[You are all cordially invited to Luna's grand tea party. The invitation is the aroma of delicious baking, and should you follow you'll discover dozens of cakes and tea pots and fancy flower arrangements floating mid-air, laid out as though they would be on individual tables. The host of this party is sitting at a 'table', and by sitting I also mean floating, sipping daintily from a cup of tea.]

I'm impressed! Can you explain how you do it?

Well, metal has bits of earth in it. Smiths and people like that refine it to make things, but there's still traces of the original ore left. So I can earthbend those, and the metal comes along for the right.

Probably not what you had in mind, though?

Mm, not entirely, but it does make sense. You can do it with any metal?

Any metal that has enough impurities in it.

So tools and weapons more than refined precious metals?

Yeah. Which suits me just fine: most people don't try to make floors or bits of armor outta gold or something.

*laughs*

Usually not, that's true. Have you used it in a fight before?

Yeah. The Fire Nation built a lot of war machines and things out of metal. That and no one else can do it, so it catches them by surprise. They think they're safe because there's no rocks around them, then I show them what I can do.

Ah, that's really impressive. It must've helped you win a lot of battles.

A few. Mostly we were trying to keep hidden until the invasion we planned was ready, then keep hidden until Aang could learn firebending and until the night of the comet. So it was kind of low profile.

So a secret weapon. That's quite a surprise to have ready. Having something no one expects is often a good way to turn a fight around.

Yeah, a lotta people still don't know it's possible.

I remember I was gonna start a school back home. Pass on my wisdom.

Could you do it here?

[shakes her head]

You either got earthbending talent or you don't, and only people from the Earth Kingdom are born with it. I could teach ya the forms all you want, but it wouldn't let you move a coin, let alone do anything interesting.

Ah, that's unfortunate. And it's hard to know if any other planes would have an ability close enough that they could learn from you.

No. No one's even heard of bending here.

There's not a lot that've heard of alchemy either. Not the kind I use, anyway, though there's other types out there. Some of our planes have really unique things about them.

That's true. There's a lot of things people do here that not even the Avatar can do with all the elements.

I've seen things here, too, that I've never seen before, and things before this place that no one here seems to be able to do.

And I am looking forward to seeing a demonstration of your skills, too. They don't sound like anything I know from the places I've been.

See, that's really weird. Most of the cities in the Earth Kingdom back home are built by earthbenders. I know that the farms and stuff and the other countries do it by hand, but it took a while to get used to making walls that aren't solid stone.

We had alchemists do repairs sometimes, but for the most part, it was craftsmen who built the cities in Amestris. It was the same in most of the planes I visited, too. Craftspeople who built the cities by hand, or with machines. I would have liked to have seen something like your homeland.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome.

I'm guessing that's one of your skills, too? It might be useful once we land.

Well, I never built anything bigger than a tent. Or a sandcastle. But if people are going to pay me to build bigger things...

Even tents might be useful out there.
