[ HQ continues coasting merrily over the treetops all day today! Enjoy however you like. Hang out by the windows, in your apartments, venture into the dome o' lizagons, etc.

For a few observant types, over at the 4th floor common area by the fountain, there's a wall that looks a little more bent out of shape than usual, like something big and weighty tried running into it a few times. There might also be a few bloodstains but that's probably totally normal around here.

Meanwhile, for a few others, the absence of a particular individual since HQ took off might not have gone unnoticed. ]

[ grips her shoulder, dropping the leather from his teeth ]

[ whup there go nerves back online-- the arm under her hand jolts, metal fingers spasming, and he chokes out a gasp ]

[ the spasm of his arm is enough to knock her off, and she collapses rather bonelessly in whatever direction she was pushed

His arm, however, is whole and responsive. There are now dark, tangled streaks in the flesh as if it were something fibrous holding it all together. ]

[ her skin is cold and damn from sweat has some sublte, unnerving quality to it that may be hard to place. Too loose? Mealy? Smooth? And her breath comes in long, dry rasps as she leans against him ]

Puts her head to his shoulder, warm fingers threading through her hair. ]

[ every bloom has wilted- all but the youngest of the leaves are dry and brown. Still she nods as she catches her breath. ]

grabs that full waterskin and yanks off the stopper with his teeth, holding the spout to her mouth. ]

[ oh hell yes. her lips part, and shaking arms reach up to hold it ]

But no, Aerta is all on board the imbibe train. ]

[ good. excellent. being able to do a useful thing.

and when there's nothing left to imbibe he sets the skin aside and just. carefully wraps his arms round her again ]

[ it takes a long moment, but as her breathing settles, that unpleasant, inhuman feel to her skin begins to subside as well. She reaches to hold the hem of his shirt. ]

w-was it . . . good for . . . for you too . . . ?

[ ...p...pff....metal fingers tightening on the fabric over her back. ]

...if it's all the same... would rather not, again.

[ leans the side of his face against hers ]

[ a few hours later, and what remaining light there is from the evening sun is overcast by dark clouds gathering in the skies overhead. The first drops of rain fall, hesitant, sparse, before building into a steady drizzle mostly beyond the edge of the broken walls serving as their shelter. Trickles of water run down crumbling stone. The air is humid with the promise of heavier rains.

He hasn't moved from where he was when she fell asleep, though his head hangs low and his eyes are closed. Breathing steady. ]

[ she blinks slowly at the sound of the rain, then presses her lips together as she takes a look at the remaining light. Then sloooooowly, slowly, pulls herself off of him, and brushes a little of his hair out of his face ]

[ looks like someone failed their 100th Keep Watch roll
