WINTER WONDERLAND

Who: A whole bunch of snow and YOU
When: Day 104, late afternoon and probably until Day 105 at some point.
Where: 3rd Floor, Common Area
What: Because Albi wanted to be Jack Frost BECAUSE CHRISTMAS

[There will be a bit of a drop in the temperature of the third floor today. Nothing too bad until you enter the Common Area, where you will find a good percentage of it is, in fact, covered in snow. There's mounds of it all over and more than enough to play and frolic in. There's even one mound big enough to sled down. And there's an area over that that's just pure ice and there some ice skates along the edge.]

[Around the edge of of the mini winter wonderland are tables with coats and other such winter wear.]

((OOC: BTW, winter clothes will vanish when the snow does.))

Looks about for a place to sit without too much snow. Plunks herself down there.]

[And slipping off her shoes so she can wear the ice skates. Making sure the laces are nice and tight]

[Probably aren't meant to wear skates without winter socks on, but she'll make do. It isn't as though Lenalee hasn't any experience with cold feet and cold shoes. She wriggles her toes, feeling the almost familiar tightness surrounding them.]

I've seen... children doing it with their families, sometimes.

[Flops down to put on his own skates]

We're a sort of family. That means we should get the pleasure, too, yeah.

[Hops to his feet, reaching a hand out to Lenalee to pull her up]

[Takes it, standing in a rather wobbly and Bambi-like fashion.]

[Ah ah ah. No falling while holding onto Lavi! Though the half-fallen Bambi position might be highly uncomfortable]

Where's the ice?

[Fine fine. Picking her up bridal style]

Over there!

[And Lavi will happily clunk clunk whoooops-almost-fell-there slide his way over to it]

[Grunts in the most ladylike manner, resisting her initial urge to squirm due to the fact that Lavi-- someone she doesn't normally recognize for his grace, bless his heart-- is now carrying her while wearing shoes with blades attached to the bottom and oh god, please don't fall.]

You know how, right?

[Ssshhh sssshhh. What is with all this doubt? Lavi will have you know that Syaoran described him as elegant! (Well not really. Maybe more as an attribute that Lavi could aspire to but details details)]

[And setting her down next to the edge of the ice. See! No falling!]

I have done this once or twice.

[Syaoran hasn't seen the damage you've wreaked in your time with a hammer and a good helping of overzealousness. But on account of getting the two of them over to the ice without any incidents, Lenalee is willing to let that almost-fall slide (get it? slide?) and clunk-clunk-glide out onto it.

It only takes her a moment to regain her intrinsic sense of balance, and she glances down at her feet in some surprise before her eyes lift back to Lavi's smile.]

In that other place you came from...?

Winter courtyards were my favorite.

[Lavi glances down to Lenalee's skates as she steadies herself. As if he expected anything less to be twice as graceful as he was (even on her first try)]

I knew you'd be a natural!

[He skates backwards about two paces, reaching a hand out for her to take]

C'mon. Winter's a wastin'.

[...It's difficult not to smile, at least a little bit. Stretches out a hand in return and catches him gently by the wrist.]

[And tug tug tug out onto the ice. Don't worry, Lenalee. Lavi's got you]

[Because she is a nice girl, she lets him lead her out, pushing herself only enough to keep balanced.]

[Still slowly moving backwards. It's so slow, it might not even be considered skating]

So? About this stress you've been feeling. Care to share?

[Really, now. We can move a little faster than this, surely. Catches a gentle curve in the ice with her skate and turns them around, so that she is pulling him along.]

It isn't anything new, Lavi. With things like the blackout and lizagon attack happening, things haven't been moving as smoothly as I'd like. That's all.

[His skate catches on the ice in surprise at suddenly being on the receiving end of the tugging. But one stumble and some minor flailing later, he's keeping up with the pace she's set. Natural at this indeed]

Trying to plug too many leaks in the dam at once?

[She'd spent her fair share of time walking on water, in her day. Like riding a bicycle.]

...Maybe.

[It's in her nature to get involved in whatever places influence on the lives of her friends.]

I just wanted to do something, and know that it would make a difference. But we can't do this with only a small number of people. It's stressful.

It is. And a little bit like home where we're outnumbered and with a mountain of problems to grapple with.

You did do something though, yeah?

[Lenalee takes a moment to pull up a smile.]

...Yeah. I guess I did.
