[THERE'S A LOUD THUNK as some dude appears, gasping for air, eyes darting around, clearly bewildered. Once he's certain he can breathe, he quickly gets to his feet, sword drawn, scanning the shrine room, but not posed to attack]

What is this. . .hello? Anyone! I am the Commander of the Nidellia Defense Corps, it'd do you good to answer me!

((introoo for Kharg. He is half human half drakyr (dragon deimos!1) but doesn't look it at all, aside from some pointy ears 8> Only around for a bit but will pick up all the things ETA okay fine HE ALSO HAS RED EYES and the exact same birthmark as Darc on his right shoulder 8V))

People do try to take care of them, but there are a lot of them, and other dangerous animals.

Do they outnumber the people here? Some nature I know we have to live with, but something that dangerous. . .[frowns]

Now I'm even more determined to help. I have to get home, but I can't just stand by and let a village be devoured by wild animals!

It's where the shrines are if you want to talk to the gods, and where new people show up.

I do plan on having a little talk with them later. Even if they're in trouble, abduction is not the answer.

My friends and I were brought here not too long ago--it's still a pain to think about. And apparently some of the gods are grumpier than others, so you probably shouldn't be too rude.

You don't have to worry about that, I've got experience with this kind of thing. Besides, the best way to persuade someone is to make them your ally! It's the same with spirits.

With talking to gods?

Right! Gods, spirits, whatever they are, they're looking for something. Appeal to that, and we'll surely be able to make some sort of deal. The fact that the gods here are even sticking around is a good sign.

Apparently there was--and still is--a big divide between the "civilization" and nature gods, and the latter destroyed the people who were living here and most of the civilization. The civilization gods brought us here to repopulate and help them, or something like that.

It isn't a bad thing. The gods of nature. . .they'll definitely take some compromising.
