Drip drip drop

Who: Anyone
When: Day 84, Evening
Where: Level 4, Fountain
What:

[ At the fountain this evening, you may notice it a tad... fuller than usual. It looks like someone's filled it with water, along with what looks like random herbs and other plantlife mixed into it, giving the water a deep green shade. It doesn't stay that way for long as a young woman with tangled dark hair approaches with a carved out shell, wearing ragged leather clothes and a bone carved knife at her hip. Out of the shell and into the fountain she pours blood of... indeterminate origin and seems pleased as she mixes it in with a bare hand. ]

Yes, yes there, this will right it all.

And there's plenty of us who'd like some more freedom. I don't think there's anyone in my apartment who's happy about the arrangement here.

Have they been doing anything else to avoid reliance on the gods?

Mm... in our day-to-day lives, about the only thing we truly need from them anymore is food purification and some ingredients we use at the tea house, now that Izumi and I are able to create most furnishings we need.

...With Alchemy?

Right. Though we can't transmute everything here yet, it's enough so far to take care of most of our needs.

At least until the population can manage running water and electricity on their own.

*opening the door to the inn and stepping back for you to enter*

I think it's only a matter of time until we've got those handled.

I did remember seeing two people working on a water pump before...

The ones who own the workshop nearby.

Mm, I don't know who they are offhand, but I may investigate myself.

I believe one of them Sabran. A native, I mean.

Ah, really? I haven't really kept track of them... I recall some of the nations had highly skilled craftspeople, though.

[personal profile] nometal_alchemist 2012-10-24 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Pavo and Cepheus were particularly skilled... others had craftspeople as well, woodworkers and glass-blowers and the like, but those two were known for their technology.

I'm vaguely reminded of astronomy and Greek mythology.

You must be from some version of Earth, then. That was the only place I visited where I saw those names, other than Sabra itself.
misterious: (You've won; congratulations.)

[personal profile] misterious 2012-10-28 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Correct.

Where else did you travel?
nometal_alchemist: Old Ed smiling softly (Everything's okay)

[personal profile] nometal_alchemist 2012-10-29 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Besides the different Earths, there was space itself, and a number of different worlds, not all of them named. The main ones that did have names were called Ravnica and Lorwyn.
misterious: (When have I ever complained about you)

[personal profile] misterious 2012-10-29 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
How did they differ from Earth?
nometal_alchemist: Old Ed smiling softly (It's not okay but we're all right)

[personal profile] nometal_alchemist 2012-11-01 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Ravnica was an endless city. Ah, not that there wasn't any nature there, it was part of the buildings in many cases, though. Trees growing up inside buildings, waterfalls or rivers of molten rock running around them. Really a fascinating place, with an extensively recorded history.
