Then don't go anywhere you can see plants growing. The plants and animals around here are deadly. Stay where it's clean and leave it to the fighters to do that.

Whatever that thing does, if it's helpful, they'll appreciate it when they drag themselves back here, don't go get yourself killed out there.

Everything's poisonous till you purify it, too. If you follow a hunting party into the shrine room, you can watch them purify stuff to learn how.

I cook safe food for everyone three times a day, so if you just wait till I make food, you won't need to bother with it.

...This is the shrine room, by the way. Each of those shrines is for a different god.

That's right. They'll help you out and do stuff for you in exchange for sacrifices. Dellen's easiest to get along with. Just be nice to humans in her name and she'll take care of you.
