But, the people that I care for love sweets, so I'm happy to bake them regardless of my own feelings.

Regardless of your own feelings? What an interesting choice of words. I would have expected more along the lines of enjoying seeing their happiness.

That's certainly true. I bake because seeing those people enjoying what I've made makes me feel happy. ... But I dislike sweets.

And it is very gracious of you. And I'm not trying to pry terribly. I'm simply curious why you would use such a phrase.
