[ So it's been a day since the HQ was moved, and everyone has no doubt been enjoying the sunshine and the lifting of that oppressive gloom. Some have even started to get things cleaned up again. Appropriate for chaos to be followed by order again, hm? Those who are interested in grabbing some cleaning supplies will notice that Eizon has actually generously set out some already by his shine, today.

For other people still exploring, some may notice that a lot of vines fell away when the HQ was uprooted, and people searching around outside will see that about where level 4 starts, some of the wall looks different--a weaker texture, actually more like concrete that was filled over something. There also seems to be remains of twisted metal scaffolding or railing in some places, all along two stone ledges that trace around the half of the HQ opposite the window side. Perhaps these were once balconies?

In any case, be careful while you're out there, it seems like a lot more Red Lizagons are around this high up in the canopy! Some of them even seem extra mad. Maybe the HQ squished some nests?]

Ah, no--Nova and Walker helped, of course. It's how we moved some of the furniture and appliances back in, but they've gone off to tend to other work for the time being.

I'm hoping to have the bedrooms taken care of, as well as a bathroom so we'll be ready to move the rest back in in the evening.

[All the doors in each room are open so that things can air out a bit while he cleans]

[Bringing over a mop and bucket of water. The room itself is, at least, already emptied of furniture or anything that might be ruined from flooding. By the line of drying mud along the wall, it seems the water had only risen about a foot or so, leaving behind clumps of water plants and dirt. Link uses the scraper to start removing the thickest layers of sludge, slowly clearing off an area that Book can mop effectively without just smearing the dirt around.]

How is your own living situation? Walker is still in apartment N of course, but do you intend to room with him?

[He settles his dustpan elsewhere and takes the mop with a soft word of thanks. It's dunked, then Link kneels to wring it by hand.]

I should hope so. If they forget, give them a right proper scolding!

[Plop. The mop meets the floor and so begins the arduous task of cleaning up gunk.]

As for my state of affairs… I'm not certain how to approach matters.

If they've really left me to fend for myself in here then they shall certainly hear of it.

Mm, as for Walker... I'm afraid I don't think I could offer an accurate prediction. If you invited him to stay elsewhere, he might appreciate the privacy in his more precarious moments, but I image it's just as likely he would miss the activity of having a lot of people around...

[Working in silence for a moment or two.]

... Do you truly think he'd stay with me? With the flood over, more rooms will become available. Perhaps we might find someplace close to everyone else, so he's able to visit freely but still have privacy. Though, ah, it isn't that I have anything against Apartment N. I would simply rather keep to myself. I'm sure you understand.

[nod] It's certainly awkward to invite one's self in after being away so long and.. well... having only a personal reason for doing so...

But I think whether he will or won't, it is still important to ask him. It's an invitation, after all.

You're right. However insistent Walker is that I'm welcome, it does feel as though I'm invading someone's privacy. I've no qualms with moving, but not only does finding a room for myself seem wasteful, I believe my place is with him. I'll ask his opinion and worry about an alternative if it becomes necessary. [Busying himself with a corner, awkwardly scraping where Note left off and feeling sort of hot in the face.]

[...Sighs. Dumping out the dirtied water in the bathroom next door, rinsing out the bucket and filling it with clean water. Coming back and setting the bucket down near the mop]

[Trading off one thing for another and returning to his mop. Dunking it, wringing it out, then it goes splat against the floor. Now everything feels tense but falling silent will make things twice as uncomfortable.]

[a little blunt:] ... Well, I do hope the knives were worth it.

[Just.. huffs a quiet sound. Maybe it's amusement.]

You'll be disappointed to know I've since traded up to something more useful, then. I apologize, the encounter was probably more uncomfortable for you than for me.

[Working with his back turned, head down to watch the mop.]

An apology is unnecessary. If they were useful, even briefly, then I consider it worth the effort. I do so little for you as it is...
