What: The other kind of new arrivals.

A pile of reddish sand seems to move around, following her.]

A mess. We fought off an apocalypse, and there was another one brewin' when I ended up here.

No, our angels did.

[shrugs] Could be a him, could be a her. God don't exactly make him or herself known to folk in my world. Even those angels didn't have a damn clue where he was.

There's a lot of gods, and they let you know they're there. From the Lord of Beasts and Lady of Birds, to the Loremaster and the Storyteller… I took a scale from the river god once.

We got some other gods like that too, but . . . There's none of 'em left that make themselves known like that. They're all hidin' out away from us.
