Oh, hello. Who are you again?

Hello. My name is Zelda. And you haven't introduced yourself yet, either.

I'm Kain. [smiles] Zelda is a pretty name. It sounds like a flower. It's a nice and balanced name too, Zel-da. Zel. Da. Zelda.

So, Kain. What are you the god of? Ideas?

Oh, you're a smart one! I'm the god of learning and innovations!

Learning and innovations. You must know a lot. Doesn't that mean you can make anything?

[oi_theoi]

Oh, see that's hard. Not hard like in making, but hard like in answering. See, anything can mean a lot...well it means anything and inadvertantly covers everything! Like paper and rain and light and atoms and dreams and pencils and cobwebs with morning dew and stone and animals and you and gods and the silence before a first breath and- [this could go on for a while if uninterrupted]

So maybe just 'a whole lot of things'?

Yes. So no, I can't make just anything. But I can make some things.

Hmm... Could you make a list of sorts of things you accept and what sorts of things you give back?

[oi_theoi]

Sure! [then pauses like he suddenly remembered something]

But first, tell me something about where you're from. About your world.

[earthward]

Hmm... I was born to a place called Skyloft. Do you want to guess why it's called that?

[oi_theoi]

It was a giant bed in the sky? [:>]

Heehehe! You're pretty close. It was a floating piece of land. Well... actually one big floating piece of land and a bunch of smaller ones. We had plenty of beds up there, too.

[oi_theoi]

Was it big? Was this your whole world?

[earthward]

No. It was rather small, actually.

You see... sometime thousands of years in the past, the people had been in danger, and their goddess, to protect them, cut off a slice of the earth and threw it into the sky. Then she created a great cloud barrier between them, so nothing from the surface could ever fly to attack them. They lived that way for a long time, peacefully, but eventually forgot that they had ever come from the surface to begin with.

Sliced a part of the earth- what a fascinating idea!

It was more of a desperate one, I think.

Do you think that's enough to get me my list?

[oi_theoi]

Yes. Desperation breds innovation in its own way. [pulls a handful of papers out of his pocket and hands her a parchment with everything here.]

Sewing machine...?

[oi_theoi]

I thought people would like to create things. Like clothes. People seem not to like the idea of walking around naked.

[earthward]

So it's really a machine that does your sewing for you? I've never heard of such a thing. How does it work?

[oi_theoi]

Yes! You put thread in it and when you power it up, you can use it to sew much faster than by hand! It's very useful.
