So your planet's lifestream still exists, unhindered. I thought so.

I don't claim to know the mysteries behind how life begins. But if your people can be reborn and begin anew, if the possibility is there-- if the lifestream exists independent of the power held by you and yours, why did you need to steal us from our own afterlives? Why couldn't the process simply repeat itself?

Our souls don't belong to this world. And if what you're saying is true, this planet's lifestream is where they'll return, when we die. I want no part of it.

Because life cannot begin if there is nothing to create life. It's possible for another sapient race to evolve, but none of us would live to see it.
