Just a rainy day...

Who: Anyone
When: Day 59, Noon
Where: Anywhere
What: A soggy mingle.

[ The mist around headquarters is mostly cleared along with the morning air, but people may have noticed that it hung around much later into the morning than usual. The rain that started in last night has also been continuing, strong enough to be heard anywhere inside the stone headquarters and much heavier than one would expect for a sudden tropical rain. It also looks as if it'll be lasting the rest of the day and then some. Hope you've got plenty of indoor activities planned for the day. Or don't mind getting a little wet if you don't. ]

[ So what are your plans, Thusia? ]

Well, no. That's not what I was getting at, at all.

So how is expressing regret for causing those negative emotions trivial?

[He actually stares at the ceiling a moment, fishing for HOW exactly he thinks about it.]

It trivializes the word. If it can be used casually, passingly, for things like annoyance and frustration, what worth does it have for despair and devastation?

In my experience? Words are entirely inadequate for things like despair and devastation. Reserving them for those situations exclusively seems pretty foolish.
over_the_fop: (That... IS an option.)

... If you're so hung up on the linguistic portion of it, then you can easily apologize through actions. For example, offering to do my laundry for once, given that you're responsible for the extra work I'm going to have to do as a result of your actions. It shows that you're capable of seeing beyond your own self-interest for even ten minutes.

[A pause in the petting before resuming.]

... Thaaat really depends on who you asked.

Cepheus' theological rejection, for instance, was heavily under my domain. It really wasn't so much refuting the existence of the gods, though it certainly became that, but it began more as a movement realizing that humanity could improve and even elevate itself without the intercession and intervention of the gods on any level. Humanism. Honestly, brilliant stuff.

... Of course, you can imagine how well that went over in the actual pantheon. It is a wildly dangerous concept in general.

[The stillness and silence that follows implies that the pantheon's point of view is one he hadn't considered.

His continued silence implies that it's not one he's particularly concerned or sympathetic toward, either]
