Where: The fourth floor staircase to the fifth floor
What: Chrys and Raven's Excellent Adventures

[ it's a new day, a new start, and two (relatively) new guys and their respective sharp pointy objects are about to make their way up to the newly opened fifth floor for investigations. ]

...so be wary of aggravating those things, there's usually more than one in the vicinity.

[SWEET. Knife at the ready, deep breath, then quietly makes his way over to drop and down and STAB IT]

[ Your knife slides in between the scales right into its back! It rears back with pain and bucks to try and get you off! Your plan was successful! ]

[ Except where there are four of them, and now the other three are closing in rapidly. ]

[ yup we totally knew this was coming

locks on to the one of the three lagging furthest behind and JUMPS to drop on it himself, spearpoint down, hella Sephirothing this bastard :T ]

While the lizagon's bucking he digs his knife in as deep as he can and twists, then yanks it out, letting it buck him off - and tossing the knife at an approaching lizagon's face.

WHAT NOW, BITCHES]

[ The lizagon dodges Raven's knife and goes in to chomp on his extended arm instead! ]

[ The other free one twists around to go after Chrys's back. ]

[ YOU AND I HAVE DIFFERENT STANDARDS OF EXCITEMENT 8|

like hell he's staying on this thing's back more than a moment. Using the butt of the spear as a foothold to jump back up (and stomp it deeper for good measure while he's at it)-- one hand grabbing for a vine, the other whipping out a knife from his jacket ]

thankfully I have another knife. Pulling that one out and STABBING THE CHOMPING LIZAGON IN THE FACE]

[ WELL YOUR ARM IS DELICIOUS AND IT'S GETTING GNAWED ON HARDER. ]

[ The other lizagon swings around and starts climbing up the tree that Chrys is closest to! ]

[TWIST, YANK, STAB IN THE EYE]

[ TARGET EYE, THROW, DROP BACK TO GROUND ]

[ WHAT IS IT WITH YOU GUYS AND STABBING US IN THE EYES ]

[ The one after Chrys drops in surprise, right on top of Raven. ]

[ ...oops

I mean SCRAMBLES OVER and makes a lunging grab for the back of the lizagon's neck with his metal hand ]

[ The lizagon scratches at Raven in its mad attempts to scramble half blind off him, its scales slippery under Chrys' grasp! ]

[ at least one thing about not-quite-perfect-condition steampunk prosthetics, is that the normal failsafes for limiting grips to human levels of strength? Just don't work as well anymore. Metal fingers crush and twist, the other hand grabbing for the knife in its eye--

[ The lizagons are sent flying, the one on Raven's arm is torn off, shredding flesh along the way, and Chrys's back is knocked hard into a tree and with a lizagon splatting him there. ]

there is a knife in his meat hand, and a neck in his metal hand, and he is yanking that neck off him just enough to slash a new, wide, tooth-free mouth into the bastard's throat ]

It's going about as well as you'd expect]

[ Lizagon blood sprays in Chrys's face as it wildly struggles, eventually going limp against him. ]

[ there's a few choice expletives that come to mind, but KEEPS HOLDING, shoving his knife arm just under the jaw to keep the snapping teeth away from him, eyes scrunched shut and stinging... until the thing is completely still.

then lets go and shoves it away, scrubbing at his eyes with the back of his hand, and cracks them open enough to start making his way over to Raven. ]

[glances up as Chrys starts to approach and just gives up on trying to get up on his own, laughing a bit, pained]

takes a moment to grab his spear and start yanking it out from the second lizagon body of the day ]
