[A few hours in, and the halls far more resemble a messy abattoir rather than the last bastion of civilization. Batmonkey corpses, batmonkeys on fire (careful there!), and more than anything, lots and lots of live batmonkeys.

[Shrugs and sitting down beside him.] I know a lot of people involved with the police. 'Capture' is a rather common word in my vocabulary.

So I've had a few interesting talks with the gods. Want to hear what I've found?

Now that you mention it, that day with the weird dreams...

I also had a dream that involved quickly rising water.

Aaaaah, why are dream memories so fuzzy!

Hmmm... [Seems to be seriously considering.]

If the plane of dreams were being altered, it could be fuzzy either way. Those sort of things are never clear.

Unfortunate that I missed it... [Her sleep habits are kind of terrible.]

It is kind of unfortunate and kind of not. It was weird, yeah. Like some big communal dreaming pot, and yanno, it's kind of uncomfortable to have people just wandering into your dreams like that.

Haaaaah, not that that stopped me from poking around in other people's dreams.

....I am used to interpreting those kind of things... [But there is a dubious tone. People in her head is a HUGE DNW.]

You do seem like the curious sort.

[Looks at him questioningly.] Does Christianity exist in your world?

Yeah.

... So did a group of people called the Noah Clan if this is going where I think it's going.

The Noah Clan? If you mean beyond Noah's Ark Noah, I'm not sure who that is.

I just wanted to know if you might have a world similar enough to know what concept I'm talking about.

The Great Flood. How often the Great Flood comes up....

I do, I do. Two of everything, right? Though in this case it doesn't looked like anything got saved.

Well, except the animals.

But there was also a lot of myths in other theologies. How a great flood would come and clear the land. Almost always in association with the gods too.

So you think the flood was caused by a god?

It usually is. Or it's meant to wipe out the gods themselves. I believe that's part of Ragnarok.

Except whoops, they only managed to kill the humans. Lovely.

But maybe they thought that killing all the humans would eventually kill the gods, since that is the source of the gods' strength.

Have you confirmed that?

Yes. According to Dellen, gods are only as powerful as the number of people who act in accordance with their domain. So if they are no people, then they have no power.

Or am I reading too much into this?

[Shakes her head.] No, not likely. The powers that be do usually need something from the people and considering the hostility to nature, they're certainly not getting it from animals.

But would a lack of humans around be enough to kill them. I mean... where did they get the power to bring the first wave of people here?
