Inside, a lovey window to the outdoors stretches across the far wall. It's sunny and a light breeze moves the sea of greenery without.

Away from the window, in the shadows, batmonkey corpses have been divided into very neatly segmented piles. Some few whole ones remain, looking like they need to . . . thaw?]

It's far less an intrusion than others this morning.

We barely know each other, and you lived and died in circumstances where other magic users were likely constantly and potentially enemies, as well as rivals. I would honestly be surprised if you were able to be any other way.

People here have been pretty nice, so far. The other magi have been a great asset.

Assets, yes. But friends?

How often do you make friends? I don't mean to turn it around, but everyone's only been here for a little while. It's a pretty short period of time to just make friends like that.

'Friendship' requires some level of reciprocity. But I do not offer tea to those I do not enjoy spending time with.

If you are looking for a deeper meaning, I would trust Luka with my life, and I do not say such things lightly.

I'd trust most allies with my life. [ considers ] . . . Saber's a friend and Archer. I think I'd have to get to know you better to say the same, but you're definitely not bad company.

In regards to that, has Saber spoken with you recently?

Yes. She mentioned you two might contract.

In lieu of her finding someone she recognizes as truly appropriate for that role, yes.

I would like to know your thoughts on it.

I was surprised because I didn't think you were her type, but you're also not the worst choice. If Saber is all right with it then that's a point in your favor, but if you don't treat her right I'll definitely have to interfere.

. . . it's not fair to Saber to keep contracting with Masters who aren't good fits for her. But if it can at least be an all right experience and not a bad one. . . Mm.
