What: FAMILY DINNER!1

[YOU MIGHT HAVE NOTICED lawyer has commandeered the main kitchen this afternoon, and has been cooking for a while! There's a lot of...well, the equivalent of toasted sandwiches made with various types of meats divided into fancy triangles, cut up fruit made to look extra dainty, a simple kind of stir fry as a main dish, and finally CINNAMON BREAD (courtesy tiniest robin) with different homemade spreads. There's also enough juice and/or booze and or/wine for apartment. When did he have time to quest for these? WHO KNOWS, BUT IT HAPPENED. ]

[It may not be the fanciest but it all SMELLS and TASTES GOOD and gdit lawyer is pleased and also wearing a new red suit.]

He's got a ways to go when it comes to food, but he's a whizz at cleanin' and fussin'.

I did hear that you do most of the cooking around here! It's quite a skill, you know.

Cookin', butcherin', you name it. The boys help out a lot with the huntin', though.

I admit, the idea of them going out to hunt is a little hard to wrap my head around. I've probably nagged a little more than I should about it.

I guess it must be weird, if you haven't grown up with this stuff...

Once a year, all the ten year olds from my country get rounded up and sent to hunt raptors. It's our comin' of age ritual.

Because I wish that no one had to carry such a heavy burden but especially at such a young age. I know that it is a little silly of me to hope for that sort of thing because life is never that fair no matter how old you are.
