or maybe you just are nosy or maybe you are pinged by swearing. which has happened with frequency about every fifteen minutes, and with vitriol.

but there's some girl sitting in an apartment up here. There's a pile of rocks next to her and a crazy magic circle on the ground in front of her with a rock shaped like a lopsided bowl in the middle. A lopsided bowl with a giant crack down the middle :T

There's also a notebook with some stuff written in it off to the side as well as some food on a plate ... study munchies '-' ]

Agreed. I can diagram the sort of ward I mean fairly easily, and then we can start working out how to combine them...ah, I'm going to have to sketch the thaumaturgic structure, though, I don't think our notation is going to be compatible to start with. We'll work something out, though.

Mm. . . that's fine. I wonder if it would be possible to nest them? Like -- a pork bun . . . put one inside the other. That way we wouldn't have to mesh our styles too much but they would work together.

Hmm...yes, I think so. That would make things much easier.

We can refine it as we go. The first iteration of almost any design is a bit clumsy.

...ah, that reminds me, though. With the attunement, and if we do use the linked spells, I may be able to add another refinement. If I build a construct or two, I might be able to tie them into the spell as well.

Mm . . . what are you thinking of?

To be honest, I'm not sure what I can put together yet; it depends on the wildlife I have available. And I'm also not certain it's entirely a good idea, given that necrotech constructs have a risk of distressing some of the residents. But I was thinking something relatively small and quick, with some of the paralytic I've heard about -- enough to get to a situation quickly and give someone time to get away.

I think that would be a longer term project, though.

Necrotech . . . it's probably a little weird for a lot of us. I can't imagine what people who aren't used to magic or gods must think here either.

I expect you're right. I sometimes have to remind myself that my familiarity with the concept isn't common...we'll shelve that for now, then, and focus on a pure warning system.

With this I'll be able to do a lot more . . . but jewels are pretty rare.

[ Rin sets it down and holds her hands over it, splitting the gem into a larger stone and a much smaller one, with a little magical nudging. ]

We can use it as an anchor for the most complex parts of the stationary spell, if nothing else.

Right . . . [ time for more writing, comes up with another circle on her noetbook, shows it to him ] Does this make sense to you? Or is this where our spellwriting diverges?

*studying it thoughtfully for a moment*

The latter, unfortunately...is it possible for you to invoke the form of it without powering it fully? If I can see the structure of it I should be able to make more headway.
