Where: coming from the 4th floor
What: TRIUMPHANT RETURN

[Look who's back from their nature exploration! Aside from both obviously being worn out and the bandage on Wander's leg, he and Edward seem to otherwise be unharmed.]

[There is a lot of nature stuck to Wander's sword, which he is kind of looking at now.]

Wander: Well, um, that was a good hunt.

Edward: It's too bad we don't have anything to show for it.

My parents had black hair.

And black hair is usually a dominant trait.

But I have red hair.

[confuse]

Yes. That's because....

[And back to the original one twig, one leaf per side.] The twigs are black hair and leaves are red hair.

Instead of being these three squares here, that have a twig. You're over here, in the two leaves square.

[staring at the squares]

...Is that really how it works?

Fundamentally this is how it works, yes. Everything in the world is more complicated for one reason or another, but in basic form, this is how it goes.

Perhaps it was not such a bad thing that I was home schooled.

[because they fail to mention all of this in class. not that his father ever taught him this stuff. maybe his village was stupid.]

I've only ever been homeschooled. Or self taught. Too far behind most actual schools to attend unnoticed.

You are very well educated for someone who was mostly self taught or home schooled.

[then again after his father died he didn't really bother hitting the books anymore, no matter how much Mono bugged him to.]

Only in a few sciences. I had a personal reason to hit the books on it really hard.

But it got easier later. Edward and Alphonse are really smart.

Did they help teach you?

[Nods.] They did. So did others, who knew why I was a terrible student.

I am glad you had people to help you!

I am too. They really helped me out. [Smiling fondly.]
